First things first, some tips for you before we get started. Drawing someone running isn't all that different than drawing someone walking. The motions are just a bit more exaggerated. We lean the body forward to show momentum and whichever leg is forward or moving forward, the opposite arm will be the one that will be forward. So if your right leg is forward, the left arm will be the one in front. So keep these tips in mind and we'll dive right into giving everything a try.
We're going to start with a base much like the one you see above, with the body leaning forward. One arm up near the head while the other is back and one knee up while the other is pushing back off the ground.
We'll start in on the face, drawing in the shape of the face and having it tilted a little forward and to the side.
From there we'll draw in the features of the face, giving our runner a serious expression. I gave them a little bandage on their nose too but that is up to you if you want to add that.
Now for the hair. We're going to drawing swooping back from the speed of our runner.
Now that the head is done we can start in on the torso. Let's make our runner female and draw in the shape of the chest and abdomen.
Then we'll move onto the legs, drawing in some lean thighs and calves.
Then the arms, drawing the upper arms and the forearms.
Now add a couple of hands.
Then back down to the feet. We're gonna go ahead and draw in the shoes and the socks, giving her a light pair of sneakers.
And then we'll draw in some clothes because she can't be running around in the nude.
