How to Draw Grass

1

These are just some sample drawing on a grey scale of the many forms of grass on the ground. I didn't include crabgrass, but at least you will be drawing lawn grass.

2

This is a drawing of a few uneven grounds. Some are dirt filled, and some have some grass growing.

3

Start with a swoop of grass that looks as though it folds in.

4

Add another layer of grass like so.

5

Now you will draw in more grass blades which are now in different directions.

6

Up next, draw more grass but this time in a spurt style. Almost like it's blooming from the ground.

7

Add more grass shards like so sneaking in from the left.

8

Now add small pebbles and some pieces of grass scattered on the ground.

9

Draw a simple lined foundation border behind the grass.

10

Add more grass in the background, then you are done here.

11

This is what the grass looks like when finished. Now you can color in your lawn.

12

Now for the coloring. Begin with a solid background in the shade you see here.

13

Now create the line for the ground and background separation.

14

Begin painting the landscape for your dirt or sand like so.

15

Now color in sections of tall grass.

16

Add some grey colored rocks.

17

Lighten the ground or dirt to a thinner shade.

18

Now you will color in some shadowing created from the grass.

19

Add more grass in the front of your image like so.

20

Begin adding texture detailing to the grass you painted by adding some shading along the ends and base.

21

Lastly, paint in some grass behind the grass you recently made.
