How to Draw a Realistic Elsa

1

Begin the first step like we always do whenever we draw figures. Make a head and torso guide, then sketch in the facial guidelines, arms and neck.

2

Using the facial guide, begin sketching out the structure of her face starting with the forehead, cheek, chin and jaw line.

3

Use the facial guidelines to draw in Elsa's pretty amazing eyes. As you can see they are very captivating which is the style I was going for.

4

Now you can sketch out her eyebrows, nose and mouth. Notice that her eyebrows are nicely shaped. The mouth or lips should be full.

5

We will now have fun with drawing her hair. You can start this task by sketching out the sides first, then draw in the small pieces of hair that are sort of combed back, but in chunks.

6

Sketch out the shape of her neck, then draw in the long braid which will rest on her shoulder. Add the detailing to her hair, then proceed on to step seven.

7

Now we can get started with drawing her torso and arms. Do this by drawing the arms which are stretched out in a magical manner or pose. Draw in the shape of her chest/breasts.

8

Continue to work on the body by sketching out her actual shape. When that is done draw the neck line for the dress, then add the other detailing associated with her clothing and body.

9

All you have to do here is draw in Elsa's hand. I know this may be hard for some of you because hands are usually one of the hardest concepts to draw. Just do your best until you end up with something you like.

10

Finish up Elsa's dress by adding her sheer lining or dress tail. This should be flowing through the air like she is doing some serious magic. Erase all the mistakes and guides when you are done.

11

That's it, color her in when you are all done. I hope you enjoyed this very fun lesson on drawing an animated version of Elsa.

Description: I know some people who will be really excited to see this lesson on one of Disney's more popular recent characters from 'Frozen'. Here is my take on a realistic version of how to draw Elsa if she where an actual person. As you can see I kept the concept of her design the same, I just made her dress cling to her body and made a much more serious face. I love the way her hand, hair, and face came out. Although I think I should have tweaked the lips just a little so they don't look so sinister. Anyways, the lesson in general should be pretty basic. I tried my best to make it as easy as possible to recreate using the steps. So go ahead and have some fun with drawing a realistic Elsa from Frozen.
