How to Draw Realistic Merida

1

Begin with head and torso guides, then sketch in the facial guidelines.

2

In this step you will sketch out the shape of Merdia's face. Not all the way just the part that will be visible.

3

Next, use the facial guidelines to draw in her pretty big eyes. This should be thick lining that has nice long lashes. Also add the bridge of her nose too.

4

Now that the base of her eyes are drawn in, you can finish them off by adding the actual eyeballs. Color in the pupils and then draw and shade in the eyebrows. Don't forget the crease line above the eye or lid.

5

All you have to do here is draw in Merida's nose then her mouth or lips. I love how her lips came out.

6

As you know Merida has beautiful long curly hair. We will begin drawing her hair starting with the locks that frame her face. Also draw two curls hanging on her forehead.

7

Continue to work on her hair which is long, curly and full of body. Merida has very thick hair so be sure not to draw it too limp.

8

Now you can draw in her neck, then her shoulder and arm.

9

All you have to do here is draw in her chest which as you can see isn't too outrageous. Add the collar line for her dress, then draw some of her back line.

10

For your last drawing step the task is simple. Add all the curly hair strand lines to give texture to Merida's hair. Also add a part to the scalp. Take your time so she comes out beautiful. Erase whatever mistakes you made, plus the guides.

Description: I am so excited to be uploading this lesson on another realistic version of a Disney female character. Here is my take on what Merida would look like if she where a grown female. Up next, we will learn "how to draw realistic Merida", step by step. Out of all the lessons I have done over the past week or two, this is my favorite. Everything about this concept screams a sexy grown up version of the head strung female from 'Brave'. I loved the movie and everything it was about. This Scottish beauty is going to be fun and exciting to recreate so let's get started. I know you will all have fun with this tut. Adios folks and don't forget to tell me what you thought of the lesson.
