How to Draw a Tribal Bird

1

Let us begin by drawing the two lines that will make up the beginning parts of the wings. As you can see these lines resemble an upside down heart.

2

Slowly begin drawing the feathers on both sides of the wings. The left and right wing should be identical. Some of the tribal feathers are curled as you see here.

3

For the head of the tribal bird all you have to do is make a diamond like shape then color it in.

4

Up next, draw the tribal patterned line that will make up the body. This line is spiral in form. It almost looks like grafitti art.

5

Add another line to the torso of the bird, then move along to the next step.

6

You are already almost done. Here you will draw what supposed to be the birds tail. This is also done in tribal form with the tail feathers beginning straight or tapered at the bottom, and curled at the top.

7

Fill in the empty parts of the tail fan until they are nicely displayed in uniform manner. If you made mistakes you can erase them now.

8

Here is the blackened image when finished. You can either add some color, or take the line art image and give it to your tattooist so he/she can get busy with inking it on your body.

Description: I have a new style tribal tattoo design in the form of a bird. The one thing that I like about this concept is how the body looks like a bird, but there is no actual face. I wanted to do something different because I know that doing the same old thing get boring and stale. Switching styles up once in a while keeps folks not only happy, but entertained while they also take on a challenge. Let's face it, it's not always easy drawing tribal art especially if they are in the form of an animal. So go ahead and test your skills as you begin this lesson on drawing a tribal bird tattoo.
