How to Draw Jiro Horikoshi From The Wind Rises

Begin like always by making the outline for the head and upper part of Jiro's body. Sketch in the facial guidelines, then move to step two.

Sketch out the shape of Jiro's face which is only the lower portion. You will also need to draw in his ear too and a little of his hair on the side of the head.

Just like Naoko you will also be drawing a hat. Jiro's hat is sort of like a top hat. Draw the top portion of the hat as well as the rim.

You can now draw in some small parts of his hair, which is located in the back, on the side and on his forehead.

Use the facial guidelines to draw in the simple metal framed eyeglasses, then draw the eyes, mouth and nose. Add detailing inside of his ear and then on the hat.

Sketch out Jiro's neck, then draw the shirt collar and some more of the hair which is on the back of the neck.

You are almost done drawing Jiro. All you have to do here is sketch in the broad shoulders, then draw in the arms or sleeves from the suit jacket, then sketch in the torso. As you can see the upper body has some creases in it because of the clothing

Lastly erase the mistakes and then draw the three round buttons and detailing to the left shoulder.

Description: As I said before here is the second and final lesson as far as The Wind Rises characters go. Up next we will learn "how to draw Jiro Horikoshi", step by step. He is the main characters in both the manga and movie. Jiro is a young boy who meets up with a young girl named Naoko. I guess Jiro's whole goal is to one day fly so he can fulfill the dreams he has had since he was a boy. I don't know how much of what I said is true, but that is the summery from what I understand. If you are familiar with The Wind Rises you should definitely know what is what and who is who. All I can do is attempt to show you that drawing Jiro Horikoshi isn't going to be hard at all.
