How to Draw a Steampunk Bird

Make two shapes, one for the head and another for the birds body. Sketch in the one facial guideline like so.

Using the guides, draw the flow of the body, then draw in the small cone shaped beak as well as the swirl for the addition of the bird's eye.

Next, draw the chest and begin the shapes of each wing. Add the pretty design along the edge of the wings like so.

Here you will sketch in the feathers which are made of metal. Steampunk objects are made from all mechanical parts. Once the wings are done you can proceed to step five.

Draw in the rest of the body along with the split tail. Add some trimming on the neck and another notched design concept on the elbow of the wing.

You are ready to finish your drawing. All you need to do is draw in the rest of the mechanical detailing on the wings, then draw the pretty trimming along the middle part of the body. You will also add some dots on the forehead of the bird as well as

Here is how your steampunk bird looks when you are all done. Now you can color the bird in.

Description: I was inspired to do a tutorial on "how to draw a steampunk bird" because I watched the original Clash of the Titans the other day and the mechanical owl in the movie was so cool and adorable, I wanted to make a bird version in the form of a swallow. The swallow bird is a very popular icon among those that like getting inking jobs on their bodies. The swallow is an icon that represents health, wealth, loyalty and long travel. I also enjoyed drawing a steampunk bird because of the golden colors with the silver accents around the eyes, beak, and wings. If you love steampunk, you will definitely like this lesson.
