How To Draw A Birthday Cupcake

how to draw a birthday cupcake step 1

STEP 1.

Step one: Here you have the base, or paper cup, of the cupcake. Make sure to curve into the top a little bit, making it look like icing was spread over it. This will make it easier for you later, but if you prefer to wait to do that you can. Now onto Step two!!!

STEP 2.

Step two: Now let's add the actual "cake" part of the picture! In the next step you will be adding icing, but for now just make it look like a "real" cake, and make it a little pointy at the top. This is where your candle will go later. Then add some corregation lines to the wrapper to make it look nicer. Now onto Step three!

STEP 3.

Step three: Now you're ready to add the guidlines for the icing. Just make the edges a little plumper, looking like icing piped around the top of a cupcake. No really (: Now let's remember to keep the lines a little bit curved on the inside, like the wrapper of the cupcake. This will make it look more like a real cupcake! Now we move onto Step four!

STEP 4.

Step four: This is getting close to the end!!! Now it's time to add the candle. And that's about it. It should protrude, or look like it's protruding, from the top of the cupcake so that it's straight up, not like real candles which fall over when they are lit for too long. Now we go on to the final step: Step five! Dun dun dunnn!

STEP 5.

Step five: It's time to finish! Just color it in, add a flame (i made it a bit opaque, and it didn't make it any more realistic, as you can tell) and make sure to go over the original cake lines as well. Now add some sprinkles and look! Now you're done! That wasn't so bad, was it? Let me know what you think of it by commenting! Thanks you so much for checking it out!!!
