How to Draw a Rockstar
Hello once again all, and welcome back to another drawing lesson that is sure to please. Some of you may have watched me draw out this tutorial live yesterday and that was a pretty fun experience. I figured that since I like rock and roll and since I sometimes fantasize about being a performer, I thought it would be fun to do a lesson on "how to draw a rockstar", step by step. This was a really fun character to draw because I got to dress her the way I think that I would dress myself if I were a rock star. You don’t see too many female rock stars and when you do they are kind of mediocre. There are a few performers that I really like and one of them was used as inspiration for the coloring of this character. I like singers like Amy Lee from Evanescence and Pink. Pink is a rocking performer and artist and I think she will be around for a very long time. At first I was going to draw my character with long hair that had a tease going on, but then I thought that giving her short spiky looking hair would probably be a better choice. I love the way that her clothes came out and the way I drew her mouth singing into the mic. The coloring was kind of easy after I chose a color grid to work with. Pink is the dominate color of choice because the singer Pink looks good and tough at the same time while holding her girly image. All the steps are easy to follow and the instructions will help you understand what to tackle first to insure that you will create an awesome drawing as well. STEP 1.
Okay as you can see this first step will be a very easy process to understand and draw. You will start by drawing out a circle shape for her head and then add the facial guidelines to the front of the circle. You will then draw out the body's line of position and then draw the remaining guidelines for her arm and legs.
STEP 2.
In this next drawing step you will start by drawing out the shape of her lower body starting with the shoulder and then work your way down back first. Add the lining for her skirt and then her breast shape. Next draw the side shaped lines for her face which includes the nose and mouth. Add lines on the hand shape for her fingers and then move to the next step.
STEP 3.
Wow you are already on your third step and because of that you are one step closer to the end of this lesson. What you will want to do here is start off sketching out the shape and style of her spiked hair style. You will then give her a mouth which is open and singing. You will then start thickening her arm and give her a hint of another breast. Lastly, draw out the ruffles on the bottom of her skirt as shown to you here.
STEP 4.
You are only two more steps away from finishing your lesson on how to draw a female rock star. What you will tackle first with this step is the lining of the eye. Now make sure that you make the line thick because she is wearing some liner make-up on her eye. Next, finish off the shape of her arm and then start sketching the crease and wrinkle lines on the back of her shirt. You will then detail the skirt a bit more and then draw a line on her thigh for the top of her boots. She is wearing thigh high style boots.
STEP 5.
You have now come to the near end of the tutorial and what you will do next is first finish the hair style which is spiked. You can also give her your own rock star hair style of your choice if you want. Next draw out the lining of her teeth and then draw out the microphone that is in her hand. Give her a bracelet and then add the wire connected to the microphone. Finish detailing her shirt and skirt ruffles.
STEP 6.
Since I am a big fan of clothing that is netted, you will draw out each line and hole of her body net suit that she is wearing under her shirt. Once you have done that detail the top of the microphone and then her face. Draw in a chocker around her neck and then wrinkle up the thigh high leather boots she is wearing. Erase all the visible guidelines that you drew in step one and move to the finished product.
STEP 7.
Once you have cleaned up your drawing you should end up with something you see here. All you have to do now is color her in and add your own personal touches. I hope you had fun learning how to draw a female rock star step by step. See how easy that was?Post a comment
