Welcome everyone to DragoArt.com and to another free online drawing lesson. Today I thought I would start the day with a tutorial on something Gothic. So, for the first lesson of the day I will show you how to draw a Gothic Lolita step by step. Now some of you may be asking “what the heck is a Gothic Lolita?” And this is a perfectly logical question sense I was one of those people that said the same thing. Let me shed some light on you for a minute while I tell you what Goth-loli is okay? First off Gothic Lolita is a combination of two words from two different meanings both which were originated from Japan. The Lolita fashion was used and influenced by Victorian children’s clothing from the 18th century period where Rococo was a style of French art and interior design. Fashion that bounced off the Rococo era was very elegant, and stylish. Lolita fashion over tome broke down into several categories and usually consisted of knee length skirts and dresses, loose fitting blouses with corsettes, petticoats, assorted headdresses which were ruffled hats or even umbrella hats, knee high socks and stockings, and platform like shoes. Gothic Lolita attire is mainly all black with different trinkets and umbrellas that complete the ensemble. Some say that this fashion comes with a female following and they too are called Gothic Lolita’s. A Gothic Lolita is said to be the head of a Gothic group of females. The leader wears Victorian fashion clothes to emphasis the amount of leadership one has. Now, I could be wrong about the meaning this is strictly being said out of my interpretation. Anyways the sketch I drew of a Gothic Lolita is absolutely awesome and colorful in a fun way. This tutorial will show you how to draw a Gothic Lolita step by step with easy to follow steps and simple to read instructions. I will be back in a while with more drawing fun so stay tuned and tackle this lesson while you wait. Remember, you can color your Lolita any shade you like. If you don’t like green hair, maybe pink, red or black is your thing. Who knows the choices are limitless. Peace out!
