"Life is tough, but it's tougher when you're stupid". That is one of the famous quotes from an all american movie legend. This lesson will show you how to draw the macho, strong willed actor, John Wayne. Did you know that this cowboy's name isn't really John Wayne? It's true, his actual name is Marion Mitchell Morrison but he changed it to his stage name of John Wayne. Wayne began his acting career back in 1926 when he used to work as an extra or stuntman for the Fox Films. At first he worked for Fox, but then he was dismissed after three movies. Once he left Fox Films, he joined Columbia Pictures as a leading man but again, he was dropped as leading man to just an extra or prop. He has done work for Warner Bros and Universal, but he was struggling as an actor for a while before he was signed on to his more famous roles in movies like Reap the Wild Wind, Wake of the Red Witch, Flying Tigers, The Fighting Seabees, and of course Sands of Iwo Jima. His acting career as a popular entertainer was from 1949 to 1973. Almost all of his movies where westerns, or military related. Drawing John Wayne will be fun especially if you are a fan of his work. I know if my grandfather seen this tutorial he would have a smile on his face because he is a HUGE John Wayne fan.
