How to Draw Bender, Step by Step, Cartoon Network Characters, Cartoons, Draw Cartoon Characters, FREE Online Drawing Tutorial, Added by Dawn, February 8, 2009, 9:18:52 pm

Okay in this first step you will start by drawing out the shapes and guidelines of Benders body to form a frame that looks somewhat like a bowling pin. First draw a thumb like shape for his head and then add the two horizontal lines going across his head. You will then draw out the shape of his bottle shaped body then attach arm and legs lines as seen.

STEP 2.

Now in this second step you will start drawing out the actual shape of Benders body consisting of only the arms and legs. His limbs are supposed to look like hoses so make sure you make them look flexible. On the side of his head draw two lumps to prepare for his eyes which look like he is wearing goggles. Add one more line between his shoulders and move to step three.

STEP 3.

Well you have reached step three and all you have to do here is draw the inside line to his eye frame and then draw a box in the torso of his robotic body. Once that is done you can start drawing the lines on his arms and add his fingers as well. Remember I told you that his limbs are hose in shape and style. Draw out his feet and then move to the next step.

STEP 4.

Welcome to your last drawing step. All you will have to do here is color in his eye frame but make sure you leave the shape of his eyes and pupil like circles. Draw out the shape of his mouth and add the vertical lines for his mouth that is supposed to look like teeth at times. Add the lines on his legs and then erase all the guidelines and shapes that you drew in step one to clean up your art.

STEP 5.

Once you are done your Futurama character should come out looking like the one you see here. All you have to do now is color him in and you are all set. I hope you liked this lesson on how to draw Bender Bending Rodriguez from Futurama step by step.

Artist CommentsWell, yesterday I was working on two cool tutorials and one easy lesson that I know everyone here at DragoArt will be familiar with. For my first lesson I will be showing you "how to draw Bender" from Futurama, step by step. For those of you that are fans of this animated television show that airs on Cartoon Network's "Adult Swim", you already know that Bender is an extremely unique character. He was built many, many years ago and in one episode it is mentioned that he is almost 30,000 years old, but because he received a new body he feels as good as new. Now I don’t really follow the show to much but I do watch it once and a while. If I want to know information about this series, I just turn to my brother because he is a big fan of Futurama and Bender happens to be one of his favorite characters along with Captain Turanga Leela who is the purple headed one eyed mutant human that is a part of this funny animated series. Bender is described as being an over dramatic, burnt out semi hero, that is also often an alcoholic who has a bad case of the blues. Even though he is a robot he acts very much like a human. Maybe that is because he is very good friends with his human buddy form New York “Phillip J. Fry” or as we know him, Fry. Bender is a robot that was built by “Mom’s Friendly Robot Company" and his main purpose, was to bend metal girders, hence the name Bender. Did you know that Bender was built on earth in Tijuana Mexico? Yes it’s true, even though he is a robot he was built on earth and he even attended Bending State University, pretty cool huh? Anyways, this tutorial will show you how easy it is to learn "how to draw Bender", from Futurama step by step. Like always the steps are simple and the instructions are easy to understand and read. I will be back with those two cool lessons that I told you about earlier. So stay tuned gang I will be back in a while.
