Okay, like all insects the wasp also has three sections to it's body form. The head, thorax, and abdomen. The abdomen is the largest shape.

2

Here you will define each shape that you made in step one and with the shaping of the body you will need to draw in the wasp's stinger.

3

Next up, draw in the large creepy bug eyes along with the antenna. Add some darkness around the top part of the head like so, then proceed to step four.

4

Simply draw six legs which are basically regular simple lines with an bend.

5

Lastly, draw the wings then add the veining to the wings for added detail. You can also choose to draw in the markings to your wasp as well. If you made any mistakes you will need to erase them now.

6

Here is your wasp now that you are all done. Now all you have to do is color it in.

Description: Since summer time is almost here and a lot of people are experiencing awesome weather lately, I thought it would be a good idea to make a lesson on "how to draw a wasp for kids", step by step. These insects are one of the scariest bugs to encounter during the Summer season. Their name alone sends chills up my spine because I know that they are dangerous and when they bite they hurt. Wasps to me are very aggressive when it comes to people invading their space. Last year we had three wasps nests on our chicken coop and they where mean little buggers. It was a challenge to even approach the coop to gather eggs without being chased away. Anyways, this lesson is very easy and fun, and if you would like to see more tuts in this 'for kids' style, just let me know. Adios people and enjoy.
