How to Sketch Sesshomaru, Inuyasha, Sesshomaru

1

Sketch the circle with V shape. Also draw the lines for the shoulder and extended arms. Draw the torso, hip, and leg lines also. Remember to do his feet placements too. Please sketch lightly so you can erase later.

2

Sketch lightly his moon crest, eyes, mouth, and markings. You may need to click on this picture to see it better.

3

Sketch in his hair lightly with his bangs.

4

Now draw in his fur pelt, the top portion of his kimono with the cherry-blossom crest, showing he is of royal birth.

5

Take your time to draw his Cuirass (armor cover his torso & shoulders). Also draw the tassels, swords, and his sleeve with the cherry-blossom crest.

6

SOME INFO: Sesshomaru's armor and sash are Chinese influenced, instead of Japanese. It's amazing to see where these costumes and ideas come from. Take your time drawing the sash and bow.

7

Last but not least, sketch in Lord Sesshomaru's legs. Seriously, I love this feudal era costume. The trousers called hakama that balloon and cuff at his ankles are are for comfort.. Don't forget his feet. Now you can erase the guidelines if you haven

Your drawing may look like this or you might have your own version. At this point, you can color in your picture with a medium of your choice.

Here is the color combination of Lord Sesshomaru. Following this step are tips on sketching/drawing Sesshomaru (translated from Japanese to English means "Killer Perfection"). Let us continue to the pencil drawing part.

Here is the outline done with a 0.7mm mechanical pencil. Look closely and see if your lines look something like this. You can erase if certain areas like the hair spikes or hand & sword don't line up. Shading transition from dark to light (or visa ve

I didn't want to skip this. The first picture shows how to hold your pencil for Overhand (great for writing & details) and Underhand (great for shading large areas in wide strokes). You can practice tone shading and take it a step further with the To

Here is how the tools look. I used the 0.7mm 2B mechanical pencil, 9B pencil, tissue, and the blending stump.

I shaded his skin, hair and lighter part of his sleeves and pants with the 0.7mm mechanical pencil. You can use your No.2 pencil (or HB) also. The sash and shaded part of fur I sketched with my 2B mech. pencil. I sketched in armor, torso, and shoes w

I blended his skin, outfit, and hair with a tissue. I added more darkness to the shadows in his outfit and blended with a tortillon. You can tell the difference at how much darker and a bit smoother the picture is. Use the kneaded eraser to clean his

This is a black and white version of my digital drawing. You can add highlights to your drawing with titanium white, white pastels or even work hard with a kneaded eraser. The next steps feature a closeup of his face.

16

Sketch lightly the circle, v-shape, lines for eyebrow & eyes. Don't forget to add the bisecting line and shoulders.

17

This is a little shortcut because it isn't the main drawing. Go ahead and sketch in Sesshomaru's head and shoulders... don't forget his fur.

18

Here's the pencil outline version for you to view and see if your drawing is similar. It doesn't have to be perfect or exact.

19

Use a No.2 Pencil to shade in his face and hair. The darker areas of his hair you can use with a 2B pencil or shade darker.

20

Blend his hair shadow, skin, and armor with a tissue. For a darker blend use a stump or tortillon for dark streaks in hair, fur, and cherry blossoms. for his eyes and shoulder. If my outline smudges anywhere, I go over them again with a pencil.

21

I couldn't resist digitally adding a background, blurring his skin and shaded areas. I cleaned up his hair and eyes by adding white to my picture. If you're unable to do that, clean up with a kneaded eraser or use white pastels or white titanium acry

Description: He is one of the most mysterious, intriguing, and gorgeous-looking characters ever. Sesshomaru is translated Killing Perfection. No wonder! As an anti-hero, this stunning character is InuYasha's half brother born of the same father. Sesshomaru has a distinct dislike of humans and his half-human, half-demon brother so they continuously battle, one desiring to kill the other. Sesshomaru is very powerful, but also a loner and rarely speaks. His dislike of humans dwindled upon taking on a young orphan girl allowing her to follow him. He has another traveling companion, an impish demon, Jakin, and a two-headed dragon. I absolutely love this character and his development of more emotions and his deep protectiveness over the girl, Rin. I hope you enjoy this tutorial. Please let me know how you feel about it by commenting, faving or clicking on "Love It." Thanks sooo much!
