Create your first base. Using simple lines and shapes. I prefer to use a different colour.

Now define the shapes of her body. Using a different colour, show where the eyes will go, the spacing, and also define the chest and tail.

Outline your mermaid, using the colour you wish to. I've decided to use the colour black. Define the hair, bikini and tail.
