How to Draw Keith Richards, Keith Richards

To draw the Rolling Stones rock icon, Keith Richards, we should first sketch in some basic guide line. Using a 2H or harder pencil, lightly sketch in a stick figure shape such as this on. Be sure to include the basic shape of the guitar so we know pr

Next, we should sketch in the basic human form. Doing this will ensure that the figure is proportionate when we go to apply clothing later on. You do not need to include details such as facial feature or fingers. These lines are just guides as well.

Let's begin drawing the face. Since this is almost a profile shot of the face, you only need to draw the right eye, but a small portion of the left eyebrow and eyelid should be visible behind the bridge of the nose. Draw the nose and mouth. Draw the

Richards has wild, yet thin, brown hair. To make things more interesting, give him a head band with a large knot at the front. The back of the headband should be covered up by hair. The hair on the top of the head should be standing upright.

Next, draw the torso. Have him wearing an unbuttoned shirt with an undershirt. The over-shirt should have a lot of vertical wrinkles on it. Don't forget to draw the buttons.

Now draw the shoulders and arms. Have the right sleeve of the shirt rolled up above the elbow with a lot of wrinkles on it. The left sleeve can be rolled down and unbuttoned. Richards is known for accessorizing his wardrobe, so give him some bracelet

Add in a shoulder strap which should connect to the upper curve of the guitar body. If you need to add in a small portion of shirt or pants behind the guitar, do so.

Now that we are done penciling the image, we can ink it using a Micron marker or a brush and India ink. Carefully go over each line with patience and be sure not to accidentally ink any unneeded guide lines. When the ink is dry, erase your pencil mar

You can add more depth to the image by giving it shadow. Establish your light source and use black ink or a fat tipped black marker to shade the opposite side of the figure and every clothing wrinkle and fold.
