My Chemical Romance is a band that I have been listening to for like three years now. Not only do I think they sound really good as musicians and artist, I also think that they have a different sound compared to other bands in their genre. To me MCR sounds a little like Green Day mixed with The Smashing Pumpkins. It’s kind of funny I say that because the singer from MCR (Gerard Way) looks a lot like the lead singer from Smashing Pumpkins Billy Corgan. In fact there are many that say My Chemical Romance is a newer version of The Smashing Pumpkins because of the similarities with both lead vocal singers Gerard Way and Billy Corgan, and because of the way the videos from both bands look a lot alike as well. For instance, the video for “Welcome to the Black Parade” by MCR and Tonight, Tonight by The Smashing Pumpkins have some big time similarities; the way the video was shot, the clothing and characters in both videos etc, etc… Even though My Chemical Romance sounds and looks a lot like Billy Corgan’s band, they still have a very nice sound and awesome vidies. MCR is a band out of New Jersey and it was formed by Gerard Way and drummer Matt Pelissier back in 2001. It wasn’t until the year of 2003 that they signed a record deal with Reprise Records. They released their second album labeled "Three Cheers for Sweet Revenge” which contained songs like “Helena”, and “Thank You for the Venom”. Although the song “Helena” made MCR even more popular, it wasn’t until the release of their third album back in 2006 “The Black Parade” that the band gained immense fame and popularity. The song “Welcome to the Black Parade” hit the charts big time making My Chemical Romance a well known band and sought after by many gothic, emo, and punk rock kids. In fact the band falls under the Punk Rock/Emo genre category because of the style and image of the bands members. After listening to MCR I have come to love their music and I also find myself thinking that Gerard Way is a good looking lead singer. This tutorial will show you how to draw My Chemical Romance Letters step by step. I laid out the letter steps the best way I knew how so that you will have little difficulty drawing them out. I will be back in a while with more drawing fun so stay tuned, there is more on the way.
