How to Draw a Tulip Flower, Tulips
Flowers, how beautiful are they? About as beautiful as a flawless symmetrical face. Today I will be showing you "how to draw a tulip flower", step by step. I have been really obsessed with sketching flowers using my new drawing program. The tulip is a flower of Spring, and when you start to see them spout from the ground you know Spring is here. I have always loved tulips because they are such a simple flower that come in a variety of pastel colors. Easter is also a time where the tulip is used. Folks give other folks these flowers as gifts whether it be in the form of a bouquet, or a small potted plant ready for transfer. I do hope you like drawing a tulip flower, because I know I did.

STEP 1.
Make an oval shape for the base of the tulip.
STEP 2.
Next, draw the two pedals on the sides which will form that cup like shape that the tulip has.
STEP 3.
Next, simply draw in the tips of the other flower pedals to make the tulip look full or in bloom.
STEP 4.
Lastly, just draw a stem that tappers on the way down. Erase the mistakes if you made any.
STEP 5.
Now let's start shading. Start at the bottom of the first pedal. The bottom should be the darkest part of the pedal. As you work your way up the flower, the shading gets lighter.
STEP 6.
Fill the rest of the pedals with the foundation like so, making sure to do exactly what you did in step five.
STEP 7.
Finish shading the rest of the tulip, then proceed to step eight where you will add all the highlighting and texture detailing.
STEP 8.
Carefully erase the lining that makes the pedals look drawn. Don't erase these lines completely, just faint them out. When that is done, blend in the surface and make the tips of the pedals the lightest of the whole flower.Post a comment
