How many of you admire the man you see before you now? I know that this person that this lesson is on is inspirational to me. He is the father of colorful and odd art, as he is the master of colors. Today I will show you "how to draw Picasso", step by step. His full name at birth was ‘Pablo Diego Jose Francisco de Paula Juan Nepomuceno Maria de los Remedios Crispiniano de la Santisima Trinidad’. The reason for the long name is to honor the many saints and some of Picasso’s family. Pablo Picasso is a Spaniard that has always took a liking to art. He started out drawing at a very young age. He loved art so much, when he was a youngster his first word was “pencil” or “piz” which is Spanish for the word pencil. When Picasso was seven years old he started to be taught the art of painting and figure drawing from his father Ruiz. Pablo had a hard time with life when he lost his sister that he was very close to. She died from diphtheria when she was seven. Pablo began growing as an artist so eventually he was sent to Royal Academy of San Fernando in Madrid by his father and uncle. He was only sixteen years old when he became a man and began his life on his own. He was born on October 25, 1881 and died on April 8, 1973; he was ninety one years old. Not only was he a gifted painter, he also loved sculpting, and other artistic stuff that he found interesting and inspirational. He is considered to be one of the world’s greatest artists of the past and present. I hope you enjoy drawing Picasso; this was truly an interesting piece to create. Adios mi amigos and be sure to keep your ‘lápiz’ moving.
