Howdy folks, welcome back to another animal lesson on Dragoart.com. Today we will be tackling the task of drawing a sea lion in a very simple style. Sea lions are interesting creatures because they look so much like seals while being very different. What make the two different are a few things. First, they have ears. Sea lions have small flaps that cover the holes of their ears while seals have small pencil like holes for ears with no external ear mass at all. Second; sea lions are very loud animals while the seal is much, much quieter. Thirdly; seals have small, sleek, petite flippers or feet that have claws on each toe. The sea lion however has longer, larger flippers with no claws. This is to aid them as they swim under water. Did you know that sea lions are faster swimmers then seals? It’s true; the sea lion can swim under water reaching speeds up to twenty five miles per hour, cool huh? You know those seals that you see at the circus? Those are sea lions that you watch bouncing balls on the tips of their noses. Anyways, learning "how to draw a sea lion" isn't going to be all that hard. In fact, I bet you will be able to breeze through this lesson in to time at all. So carry on folks and have yourself some good fun. Peace out people!

STEP 1.

We will first draw the face of the sea lion. Start with a circle, then sketch in the facial guidelines. Next, begin drawing the actual structure of the sea lion's face. This should also include the lining to form the snout. Draw and color in the nose, as well as the bottom part of the mouth. Add some detailing to the face, then on the neck. Draw and color in the solid eyes, then sketch in more facial detailing like so. You will draw out the many fine lined whiskers, then draw out the neck.
