How to Draw Anime Faces, Step by Step, Anime Heads, Anime, Draw Japanese Anime, Draw Manga, FREE Online Drawing Tutorial, Added by Dawn, January 10, 2009, 2:40:38 pm

This is really not a step it's just a sketching of all the different types of things that I was drawing before I came up with tutorials image and faces. As you can see there are different types of eyes, mouths, and different angles and perspectives of how you see people and their faces. I hope you will enjoy this tutorial lesson on how to draw anime faces step by step.

STEP 2.

Here is a finished sketch of the first anime face I will be showing you how to draw. As you can see she is very pretty and she has adorable green eyes. Like I said in the tutorial description, she is supposed to be expressing how sad, hopeless, and emotionally unstable she is. Move to the next step to see what you will need to do first.

STEP 3.

The first thing you will need to do is draw a medium sized circle and then add the facial guidelines. Then you will make a long line from the middle of her face straight down past the bottom of the head line. You will then add a series of vertical lines as seen here and then move to the next step.

STEP 4.

In this next step you will start by sketching out the top lid of her wide open eyes and make sure the lining is somewhat thick. Once that is done sketch out the nose and then the arch line for the mouth. You will end this step by drawing out the face shape as well as the chin or jaw.

STEP 5.

Wow your first anime face is coming along nicely isn't it? The first thing you will do here is start sketching out the bangs of her hair style and then the bottom lines for her eyes. Once that is finished you will add some eyelashes and then her neck and partial shoulders.

STEP 6.

Well this is your last drawing step and what you will do here is sketch out the rest of her hair style which is shoulder length. Bunch up her bangs and then add her eyebrows and eyeballs. Once the eyeballs are drawn out you will color in her pupils and then add the glare circle. Sketch out her ears and then detail her face a bit. Erase all the guidelines and shapes and move to the finished product.

STEP 7.

This is what your first anime face should look like when you are completely done. All you have to do now is color her in like a coloring book page. I hope you liked this first lesson on how to draw an anime face step by step.

STEP 8.

This is the prettiest of all three anime faces. This anime girl has a dazzling face that simply says "happiness and money" When you are done with your sketch if this second anime face you should end up with an anime girl that looks as pretty and as happy as she does. You can color her hair any color you like as well as her eyes. I hope you like this second half of how to draw anime faces step by step.

STEP 9.

Like the first face you will draw out a circle for her head and then the facial guidelines. If you look close enough you can see where her eyes, nose and mouth will be. Because her face is from the side or three fourths view her eyes will seem different at first. Draw a long line for her neck and then her shoulders.

STEP 10.

In this next step you will start sketching out her face structure like her face line as well as her chin and ear. Once that is done start sketching out her bun on top of her head and then her eye line shapes. Continue onto drawing out her shoulder lines.

STEP 11.

As you can see this is your second to last step. What you will do here is draw out the hair style which is an up-du that is kind of spiky looking as you can see here. I think that this anime girl is pretty. Once her spiky hair is drawn out you will add the front hair line on her forehead as well as a hint of bangs. You will then draw her eyebrows and then bottom eye line. Detail her inner ear and then give her a mouth and necklace. Finish off the back of her neck.

STEP 12.

On this next step all you have to do is add the sketching definition lines for her hair which is combed back as you can see. Then give this sleek chic a top eye lid as well as some eyeballs. Next draw out the nose and then detail the necklace with a charm of some sorts. Add more definition to her ear and move on.

STEP 13.

This is your last drawing step for this anime girl face. All you will do is sketch in some more minor detail top her hair and then color in her pupil. Add some pretty eyelashes and then maybe a tear drop on each eye. Add some more definition to her choker or necklace. And more detail to her hair and background.

STEP 14.

Once you are done your second anime face should come out looking like the one you see here. All you have to do now is color her in and your set. I hope you liked this second installment on how to draw an anime face or faces.

STEP 15.

Well here is my last tutorial of anime faces and here you will learn how to draw anime faces mo-hawk style. This character was inspired from the cover of a movie that I am fond of. No it is not a she it is a he and he is a very cool looking dude. I also added a cyan line down his face and made him look a little sad but not much. Well lets get this tutorial finished shall we?

STEP 16.

Start with a medium sized circle for the shape of his head and then add the facial guidelines. You will also draw out the shape of the lower portion of his face which is the nose and jaw. Once that is done draw out the neck line as you see here.

STEP 17.

In this next step you will start sketching out his face starting with the forehead and then moving down to the nose, mouth, lips, and chin. End this step by drawing out the back of the neck which is an arched line.

STEP 18.

Now that the face and head shape is pretty much all set. you will start sketching out the spiked shape of his Mohawk. Now this can be done as short, as long, or as pointy as you want. Once that is done start drawing out the lining for the eye and ear. When drawing the eye make sure that there is a hint of eyelashes. Draw out the shoulder line shape and then move onto the next step.

STEP 19.

Well you have made it to your last drawing step and all you have to do now is add some minor detailing and lining to the anime face or head. Start by drawing out the hair line that starts from the forehead and ends at the bottom of the neck. Next detail the inside of his ear and then draw the lining shape of the chest. You will then give this anime face an eyebrow and then some eyeballs. Color in the pupil and add a cyan line down his cheek. Erase all the guidelines and shapes that you drew in step one.

STEP 20.

This is what your anime character face should look like when you are done. All you have to do now is color him in and you are done. I hope you liked learning how to draw anime faces step by step.

Artist CommentsI hope you are all enjoying my last lesson on how to draw anime kids step by step. This next tutorial is going to be even better because I will be showing you how to draw anime faces step by step. I know there is a lot of people out there that have a hard time drawing faces for their anime characters. I should know because I was one of them. For a long while I had a hard time learning how to draw anime faces as well as regular faces for both men and woman. It took months of practice before I could sit there and feel confident about showing others how to draw faces, and other anime body parts. Whenever you are attempting to draw manga or anime characters you always have to keep in mind that they are suppose to have resemblance and style to the Japanese culture. Take the anime kids for instance, how often do you see regular girls or kids that have style like that? If they do then they have either a savvy fashion sense or they love manga/anime. I did a tutorial on these anime faces and with it I have included three different types of faces. There is even a Mohawk hair style of a boy’s face from the side as well as a very classy girl and then a very sad looking lonely girl that has the look of hopelessness on her face. I know that this will be a very helpful tutorial lesson because I took my time with these different looking faces. Learning how to draw anime faces step by step is a easy and helpful lesson that will aid you on the rest of your anime drawing journeys. I will be back yet again with more drawing fun so stay tuned.
