1

Make a circle foe the head, and a mushroom shaped stem for the body. Sketch in the facial guidelines like so.

2

Using the shape you just made, begin sketching out the shape of the head which sort of resembles a Hershey's Kiss. There should be some long hair on the sides of the face, as well as at the top of the head.

3

Next, using those facial guides you made, draw out the slanted style eyes then color in the pupils. When that is done draw out the mouth and ears. Add the nose, mouth and detailing inside the ears.

4

Draw the body in better detail, then draw the feet.

5

Sketch out the long hanging arms, as well as the hands. You will end this step by adding detailing to the bottom of the orangutan's feet. Erase the mistakes then you're done.

6

That's it, your orangutan is done. Now all you have to do is color it in.

Description: Before I get into the nitty gritty of today’s submissions, I wanted to first show you "how to draw an orangutan for kids", step by step. These primates are one of my favorite because of their color, girth, and build. They are incredibly adorable even if they are huge and powerful. I think that this will be a fun tut to follow because orangutans have such visual character. I will be back with more for you all, but in the meantime, have fun drawing an orangutan for kids. Peace out people!
