Hey, everyone can you hear me? It’s me Dawn. I want to tell you something! Ears aren’t they a funny looking piece of meat that sticks on the sides of our heads. With out them we wouldn’t have the pleasures we do today. Today, we will be drawing a realistic human ear, so I guess this tutorial is going to show you "how to draw an ear". It seems everyone has trouble drawing them. What I will show you in this tutorial, is a simple way to draw an ear. Now, everyone knows that they come in different shapes and sizes. If you’re an Elf or Dwarf your ear may be a bit long and pointy, if you’re an animal, your ears come long, short, skinny, fat, small, tiny, huge, big, plain holes, furry, and so on. My favorite types of ears, is the elf and animal style. Unfortunately, I’m not an Elf or animal I’m a human. Since I’m a human the style we're going to be learning is the human ear. This is going to be extremely easy, so you should get the hang of it real quick. There are just a few measly steps and that’s it you’re done. I hope these step by step instructions help you improve on drawing ears better. Enjoy

STEP 1.
Begin with outer shape of the ear (think mangoes) and the external auditory meatus. This is where the ear carries sounds to the eardrum.
STEP 2.
Now add this hook shaped line at the top of the ear. This is called the helix or the fold surrounding the auricle. Wow, these words are really weird aren't they?!
STEP 3.
Finally, draw a bumpy curved line moving towards the end of the helix. This is called the concha or the deep end of the ear. Finish off that end of the ear to make the ear lobe.
STEP 4.
If you shade in the 'external auditory meatus', you'll have a realistic ear! Wasn't that purely easy. Hey, you also learned all the different parts of the ear too. Anyways, I hope this tutorial was very helpful. If I'm missing something comment this tutorial and I will improve it. If you have any comments, please leave one behind.
