We will be drawing a circle for the "face" of the tree, then draw out the lining for the tree's line of motion or pose.

2

Next, begin sketching out the first three crooked limbs. The lining should be drawn in a squiggle like manner.

3

Sketch in the twisted bark on the limbs surface, then begin drawing out a spooky looking face. You can choose to draw the face you see here, or you can go with you're own.

4

Here is where you will draw out the entire shape of the twisted trunk for this Halloween tree. The roots should have that "lifted or rooted look". Add some detailing, then proceed on once again.

6

For the last step all you have to do is draw in the limbs that are forked at ends. Sketch in some detailing, then you're ready to start erasing the mistakes.

7

This is it, your finished drawing of a haunted tree. Good job, now start adding some color.

Description: I think I have drawn a couple of these types of trees before so I will make the description for this tutorial short and sweet. The sweet part is that you will learn "how to draw a haunted tree", step by step, and the short part of the tutorial is that you will be finished in not time at all. The twisted body that I chose to go with really puts a knotted look to this old tree turned evil. Drawing trees is always fun even if they are based on something that comes out of a scary story. Like always you can tweak the concept of the tree if you like, that is totally fine. I will often get emails asking if it's okay to change my drawing concepts. I always say go for it, because the name of the game is creativity whenever it comes to drawing. One of the only way to be creative is to think of something that's your own. Have fun with drawing a scary Halloween style haunted tree. I will be back in a bit with one more tut for you all to enjoy!
