Welcome everyone I am back with another drawing lesson for all you artist out there that love sports. My first tutorial is going to be on how to draw boxing gloves step by step. I chose to do this lesson because boxing is one of my favorite sports to watch because I can really get into the sport. Now many of you know that the combat sport of boxing has been around for ages. In fact boxing dates all the way back to the second millennium BC. There is even evidence that the ancient Greeks boxed in a very similar way to the way we do today. Now a day’s boxing consists of two men in a big square ring with a pair of oversized cushioned gloves. The two opponents throw their fist around to try and get a K.O or T.K.O. Those two abbreviations stand for “knock-out” and “technical knock-out”. A knock-out is when a boxer falls due to a blow to the head, face, cheek, jaw, nose or any other part of the face. A technical knock-out is when the match is pronounced a winner by three judges due to the fight going to all 25 rounds and each one consists of three one minute rounds. There are four different types of boxing techniques or style; first you have the old fashion boxer which is called a boxer/out fighter, and some popular out fighters are Willie Pep, and Muhammad Ali. Next you have the boxer/puncher and these boxers are very good at what they do. Now, boxers who fall in this category are great when it comes to fighting up-close and they use a combination of moves. A popular boxer that falls in this category is Sugar Ray Robinson. Next you have the brawler/slugger and these fighters have great punching technique and power but very poor foot movement and suave appeal. Rocky Graziano was a brawler and he was very good at it. And lastly you have the swarmer/in-fighter boxer, and believe it or not but some of the world’s greatest fighters fall in this category. These fighters like to throw upper cuts, hooks, and other powerful hurting blows. Fighters like Mike Tyson, Rocky Marciano, and Manny Pacquao are “pressure fighters”. As you know these guys can sometimes “take a bite” out of the opponent. Well I know that you will have fun with this lesson because it is easy and fast which means you will learning how to draw boxing gloves step by step in no time at all. I will be back with more so stay tuned.

STEP 1.

Okay, you will start this step of this online drawing lesson by drawing out two circles for the gloves and then two shapes on top of the glove shapes. When you are done your image should look like two mushrooms. Lastly add a string that is attached to the boxer gloves along with a tack.

STEP 2.

Next what you will do here is start drawing out the shape of the gloves themselves. Start with a thumb shape and then draw out the wrist detailing lines where the laces will be. Move to the next step when you are done.

STEP 3.

You have now made it to your third step and what you will do here is draw out the boxing glove laces as shown to you here. Once that is done you will draw out the lining for the strings or laces and then draw more shaping lines to make the glove look like a boxing glove.
