How to Draw Kratos
Alright people, I know a lot of you love to play tons of video games nowadays, so today I am going to make an awesome tutorial on how to draw the bad character Kratos from God of War! I haven’t really played this game, but I watched my brother and his friend play it. It’s like a third person game. You get to be a character named Kratos and attack enemies. I’m not too keen on what the game is about; all my brother told me is that he was the captain of Sparta's army and lives to serve the Gods for forgiveness. All this happened after he was a servant for Ares. That is all I know for now but I can tell you that this tutorial was a request from a few members and I never forget a request. Alright, maybe sometimes I do, but definitely not this time. A member asked me to make a tutorial on this character so I did. I loved the concept of this video game character. He looks so mean and awesome! Oh yeah did I forget to tell all of you that I seen "The Dark Knight" movie? I LOVED IT! The movie was so epic and dark. You don’t understand how awesome it was! Anyways, know that I’m back on the Kratos tutorial topic; I want to tell you how this drawing started out…get ready for a long Dragon_Queen adventure. I looked at several pictures of Kratos to use as a reference. I can tell you that he was a really difficult character to draw and make a pose of that can capture his power. I sketched out like three different versions of him in odd poses but nothing looked good. Finally I came up with this one. It took me like 2 hours just to get him in this pose. Anyways, I scanned the image into Photoshop and worked on it some more. I wanted to make the image realistic like for his skin, cuts, chains, clothes. After I’ve succeeded at that I worked on the background. The older background looked like parchment. I didn’t like how it was so…blah. I got a picture that I found online and pasted it behind Kratos. I photo manipulated the background to make it look like Kratos was right there in it. It took me a while but eventually I succeeded and conquered this difficult goal. I absolutely love the way he came out down to the last drop of blood. This tutorial will show you how to draw Kratos from God of War step by step. I hope you like this lesson, I worked extremely hard on it and I also hope that you will too when trying to draw Kratos out. STEP 1.
Okay start this step by drawing out the guidelines and shapes to form a mannequin like frame fro Kratos. You will draw out a small circle for his head and then add the facial guidelines. Once that is done sketch out the shape of his muscular torso and be sure to add the chest lines and six pack guidelines. You will then draw out the half shapes of his arms and then the shapes of his legs and parts of his shins.
STEP 2.
Now in this next step you will start drawing out his trapezoid muscles which is the muscles above the collar bone. Once that is done sketch out the shape of his jaw and left ear. Add more lines for his forearms and then start sketching out his torn loin cloth. You will then finish off the shape of his shins and feet as shown.
STEP 3.
Now that you have made it to step three you will start sketching out the shape of his face which includes his eyes, nose and mouth. Then you will sketch in his beard and start detailing his inner arms with muscles. On the right forearm you will sketch out the chains that is wrapped around almost the whole part of the forearm. Once that is done you can draw out the beginning lining for his blades and then add definition to his torso as shown. Define his thighs and then start sketching out his toes.
STEP 4.
You have now made it to step four and I know it must have been a challenge so far. But no worries because you are close to being done. What you will do first in this step is detail his face better and then start adding definition to his torso which includes his stomach. You can then add his chest nipples and add the lining for his red like tattoo. Add the chains on his left forearms and then finish the shape of his sword that is in his left hand. Detail his loin cloth and then his left shin and foot. Before you leave you will also need to add more detailing lines to the right sword.
STEP 5.
You have now made it to step five and now that you are here you will finish everything up. You will first add the loose chain on his left arm and detail the blade a lot more including his hand. Once that is done draw out the rest of the tattoos on Krato's body and then add some detailing design on his belt. Detail and define his right blade and then add some wrinkle lines to his loin cloth. You will add a chain around his bottom leg and then erase all the guidelines and shapes that you drew in step one.
STEP 6.
Once you are done your drawing of Kratos should come out looking like this after it is all cleaned up. I was going to upload the sketch of Kratos, but I figured this would be better. an but in the game of war he is a semi-god, a general for Sparta who wanted to spread Spartan to the world. In the middle of a battle against barbarians he sold his soul to Ares b/c to him winning means anything, Ares came and give him blade of chaos and for that moment he serve Ares. But Ares betray him by telling kratos to destroy a town, w/o knowing his family was there he kill them and the Oracle told kratos the b/c of destroying the town and killing his family he will carry them and he became white as snow and called the Gosh of Sparta but he wanted to redeem himself so he work for the gods for 10 years. Then he when to get Pandora box and with that he killed Ares, then he became the new god of war&ip;All in GOW1 but in 2&3 he kills like 9 more gods including his father ZeusLeave a reply
