How to Draw the Shadowlurker, Horrifying House Guest
I have two more internet memes going up today but I will start with my favoirte one. This has got to be one of the creepiest faces I have ever seen and now I will bring it all to you. Has anyone ever heard of the Horrifying House Guest? Well, neither have I but I have seen the face long before I knew the memes name. Today I will be showing you "how to draw the Shadowlurker", step by step, or otherwise known as Horrifying House Guest. This meme was created back in 2011, and he goes by a few other names like 'Never Alone, and Uninvited Guest'. The image is a pencil sketch of a creepy looking mans face that has these incredibly piercing sunken in eyes and devilish grin. He sort of looks like the old man from Poltergeist II with a hoodie. He is often used in captions for stories that will have a normal person seeking refuge from God when they see his face. It was hard for me to use the bathroom yesterday after I finished drawing Horrifying House Guest because I had been looking at his face for a good hour before I stopped what I was doing. As soon as I entered the dark doorway I instantly felt uneasy. Once I turned the light on I came to and realized that it was all in my head. Anyways, this should be a fun lesson to tackle because even though the face is scary, the character concept is still very cool. STEP 1.
The drawing that you are about to tackle will end up looking like a scribbled sketch. But first, start with a head guide like so, then sketch in the facial guidelines.
STEP 2.
Carefully sketch out the outline of Horrifying House Guest's face like so. Notice how the chin has a notch.
STEP 3.
Starting with the eyes, craw two circles and color them in solid leaving behind a small white dot. Draw out the prominent nose like so, and begin drawing the mouth starting with the top frown line.
STEP 4.
Draw in that devilish grin like so, then sketch out the arches for each tooth that will fill the space. Also, color in tiny pupils inside the already small dots you left white in the eyes.
STEP 5.
Draw in the teeth like so, then draw some bold marks on the chin, around the mouth and along the cheeks.
STEP 6.
Here is where you will add the creepiness. Make a bunch of scratchy scribble marks on the face to enhance the features. The sides of the nose needs some darkness, and you should add the creases and wrinkles throughout the entire face until your drawing looks similar to the one you see here.
STEP 7.
Here you will draw out the entire hooded cloak that this meme is wearing to make things even more horrifying. Take your time so things come out looking accurate.
STEP 8.
Now before you go ahead and finish things up, you should probably erase the mistakes as well as shapes and guides. When that is done you can go ahead and sketch in the rough shading like you would if you where shading in a character using a pencil or pen.
STEP 9.
