1

Begin by making a simple circle with some facial guidelines like so.

2

Next, draw out the structure or shape of the mask. Notice how it has the form of a man's face.

3

Color in the eyes on the guideline like so, then draw out the broad, strong looking nose. Add some dark shading along the sides of the nose then draw in some cheeks.

4

Next, color in the nostrils, then draw out the very sharp looking mustache that can actually be drawn using a ruler if you like. Draw the mouth, then move to step five.

5

Draw out the thick bold eyebrows, then draw out the actual shapes of the eyes. Add the wrinkles at the corners of the eyes, then draw in the thin goatee like so. You will also need to erase the mistakes so you can end up with a nice clean image.

6

Here is the Guy Fawkes mask when you are all done. Now you can choose to color in the mask using a pale skin toned shade.

Description: You may recognize this mask, but yo may not. You may know what people are using this mask to symbolize, but then again you may also think of vendetta. I have been reading a lot of articles lately and a few of them caught my eye. It's not the first time I have seen this mask that you see in front of you now. I am actually familiar with the image, but also unfamiliar with its background or meaning. After being intrigued by a blog post on a certain site I go to on a regular basis, I had to find out what is the meaning behind this Guy Fawkes mask. I did find out that the mask is a replicated image of the real person in question, Guido Fawkes. He was born on April 13, 1550, and died January 31, 1605 by suicide. He was actually supposed to be hanged on the day before, but to spare himself the embarrassment and torture of mutilation, he decided to jump from the place where he was to be tortured and broke his neck. Before his life took a turn for the worst, he was actually a pretty straight up guy that was very loyal to his friends. The reason why he is so darn popular is because back in 1604 Guy Fawkes was in on a plan to kill the Protestant King James. He followed a group of English Catholics that was led by a fella named Robert Catesby. The last name may sound familiar because of the great Catesby. Fawkes was supposed to guard an explosive supply of gunpowder but was caught and interrogated until he broke. He was labeled the Gunpowder Plot because of the gigantic fail of the whole plan. Guy Fawkes was attempting to rebel against his government which is why he wanted to blow up the Parliament Building on November 5, 1605. The mask nowadays represents rebellion against tyrannical governments, as well as forces that try to take your freedoms. I enjoyed making this lesson because the mask means a lot to me or for what it stands for. I hope you enjoy drawing Guy Fawkes mask as much as I did recreating it in a simple to follow lesson. That's all I have to say but you can stick around anyway. Adios and peace out!
