How to Draw Hoops and Yoyo the Hallmark Characters
Welcome back once again fellow artist, members and visitors of DragoArt.com. Now that I filled one request on how to draw Raiden from Mortal Kombat, I will fill another request made by a member some time back. For my second drawing lesson I will be showing you how to draw hoops and yoyo the Hallmark characters step by step. These two very energetic and funny characters were made by the Hallmark Corporation and made their e-card debut back in 2003. In fact, they made their first appearance on a Fourth of July e-card. The man behind “hoops & yoyo’s” design is a gentleman named Bob Holt and their personality came from his co-worker Mike Adair and the two of them work for Hallmark. These two characters became insanely popular by 2005 and started appearing on more and more e-cards worldwide. What are these characters supposed to be you ask? Well according to Hallmarks website hoops is a pink kitty and yoyo is a green bunny. The two of them together make an insane duo that has comic appeal and wacky personalities. Once in a while they will be accompanied by some of their furry friends like piddles, who is a blue critter, chilli a cute bear, marshy who is a giant marshmallow, puck is an adorable mouse and a bluebird named bluebird. I just recently became aware of these adorable characters and I have to say I think they are very sweet and funny. They sort of remind me of the South Park characters because they have that corky side to them. This tutorial will show you how to draw hoops and yoyo the Hallmark characters step by step. I will be back with more awesome characters in a while so stay tuned folks; there is more on the way.

STEP 1.
In this first step you will start drawing out the shapes and guidelines to form a solid looking frame for the two characters. Draw two circles for their heads with the one on the left being bigger than the other. You will then add the circle for their eyes and then add the facial and body guidelines.
STEP 2.
In this next step you will start adding the shapes of the ears on the cat and the bunny. Add the oval shaped noses and then their small bodies. See, so far this tutorial is really easy right?
STEP 3.
Well you have now made it to your last drawing step and what you will do here is give them some eyebrows and then pupils. Add some smiles and then the rest of their body shape. Cap off their ears and start erasing the guidelines and shapes that you drew in step one.
STEP 4.
When you are done you should end up with something like this. All you have to do now is color them in, one pink one green. Well I hope you had fun learning how to draw hoops and yoyo the Hallmark characters step by step.Comments: Post Comment
