How to Draw Sub-Zero from Mortal Kombat
Hello DragoArt people! Today we will be learning how to draw the awesome and long waited for character Sub- Zero from Mortal Kombat. As you may or may not know, there are two Sub-Zero characters. One is the brother of the younger one. The first Sub-Zero was defeated and eliminated by a powerful ninja named Scorpion. After the original Sub-Zero dies he later became a wraith from the Netherealm named Noob Saibot. His younger brother took his place and became the new Sub-Zero. Both Sub-Zeros have the ability to control ice. Now having control over ice is a pretty sweet thing to own. Sub-Zero belongs to a race called Cryomancers, which is a race that appears to be human and can possess the power of ice. If you noticed in the new mortal Kombat game (Mortal Kombat vs. DC Universe) the young Sub- Zero has a scar that starts from the top of his forehead and runs straight threw over his right eye and onto some of his cheek. Well actually in all the games he has a scar above his right eye if you think about it. The two brothers were born to an American mother and a Chinese father. As the story goes both sons were forcefully ripped from their mother by the hands of their father to move back to China so that he could join up with the Lin Kuei clan and because of which, both brothers followed in their father’s footsteps. I first heard of Mortal Kombat when I was like 7. I played the games with my uncle who was strangely addicted to the series. The two movies were extremely epic! I don’t understand how everyone thinks that the first movie is low budget when it’s really good. If you don’t remember Sub-Zero made a brief appearance in the first Mortal Kombat movie when he fights Liu Kang and was defeated and then destroyed. He later appeared in the Mortal Kombat: Annihilation movie and aided Princess Kitana and Liu Kang by rescuing them both from Smoke. I am so very proud of this drawing because he came out so very well. This tutorial will show you how to draw Sub-Zero from Mortal Kombat step by step. The instructions are simple to read and the steps are easy to follow. I will be back with one more drawing tutorial for you all so stay tuned kiddies there is more on the way.

STEP 1.
Okay are you ready for some drawing fun? Good, then start this step by drawing out the guidelines and shapes to form Sub-Zero's frame. Start by drawing out a circle for his head and then add the mask guideline. You will then draw out the neck line and continue to make the shape of his upper torso. You will then add the guidelines for his arms and legs as well as his hands and his fingers.
STEP 2.
Now in this step you will start drawing out the shape of Sub-Zero's face and eyes. Then you will start drawing out his fingers and hands as you see here. Once that is done you will start drawing out the waist wrap and then the lining of his baggy looking pants and then the left front shape of his boot and foot.
STEP 3.
You are already on your third step and as you can see he is coming along nicely. You will now draw out the shape of his shoulder pads and then the front lines of his outfit design. The next step is to draw out the shape of the long narrow square flap that is a part of his ninja outfit. Once that is done you will start sketching out the detailing lines of his legs, pants, and boots. Make sure that the lines on the pants are nice and wrinkly.
STEP 4.
Well you have now made it to the forth drawing step and what you will do is add more definition detail to his ninja suit. Start with the mask and then the shoulder pads. Detail his top better and then add the shape of his emblem on his waist. Add the knee pad details and then the front of his leg padding. Detail the palm of his hands and then move to the next step.
STEP 5.
Well you have made it to your last drawing step and what you will do now is add the finishing details on his head mask and then on his facial mask. Detail his face around the eyes. Add more detailing lines on his torso and then on his shoulder pads. Lastly add the details on his knee pads and then you can start erasing all the guidelines and shapes that you drew in step one.
STEP 6.
Once your done your character should come out looking like this. All that is left to do now is color him in. I hope you liked learning how to draw Sub-Zero from Mortal Kombat step by step.
