How to Draw Chibi Wolf Link, Wolf Link From Legend of Zelda
Hey guys, I'm back with another drawing tutorial yet again, and this tut will give you a basic breakdown on 'how to draw chibi Wolf Link', step by step. This was a lot of fun to work on and I think it was finished within 20 minutes. Drawing chibis is a breeze for me so workflow is pretty fast. I've included a little tip in here on paws so it'll aid you on drawing his paws easier. Anyways, I'll be back with more lessons shortly. STEP 1.
We will first begin this drawing by laying down our foundation which is the basic guide-work. I like working by guidelines, but usually, my guides are sketchy instead of using perfect shapes like presented to the right. Try your best to get the guidelines drawn the way it's shown (not perfect, just the similar sizing). It will help further your success in drawing the Wolf Link accurately.
STEP 2.
Then, we'll move onto drawing the beginning shape of the head. I consider drawing a bit of the head first before we move onto the body so everything comes out proportionate, opposed to working in random areas. Take your time, and try to use quick strokes for some of the sharp curved areas.
STEP 3.
Next, we'll jump into the facials and markings that flow around his face. I simplified the markings a bit so you have an easier time drawing a chibi wolf Link rather than the full bodied detailed one. Remember to use thick outlines for the outer shapes and thinner lines for the inner detailing. This helps add variety to the drawing, and avoids confusion of the overall composition.
STEP 4.
Here I give you a few steps into the process of drawing each paw for the Wolf Link. Typically, the two largest paw toes are always the ones in the middle. We're going to draw boxy looking paws because that's what they look like when merged onto the ground; they become slightly fanned and box-like. Start by drawing the guidelines for the preferred paw shape, and then work your way into working on the blocks of toes until you complete the final paw.
STEP 5.
Using the tip presented previously, we'll move onto drawing the paw and foreleg. Use soft curves for these parts since our pose is indeed a chibi, so using soft shapes is essential.
STEP 6.
Next, we'll start drawing the signature trait of this character which is the fluffed mowhawk-ish styled back neck mane. Start with a smaller ridge and work your way into large ridges until it gets the middle, where the ridges eventually become smaller again. Finish off by sticking to your guidelines and drawing the back leg.
STEP 7.
Lastly, finish by drawing the last of the limbs and then the pattern which form on his body. This is just a simplified version of his pattern, so you don't have to get too detailed.
STEP 8.
