How to Draw Hawkeye, The Avengers
Hey everyone, here's a tutorial on how to draw "Hawkeye" from Marvel Comics. This version is based off of the "Dark Reign" version of Hawkeye. For any of you comic book aficionados, this is the "Dark Avengers" version of Hawkeye, a.k.a Bullseye from the Daredevil comics. I hope you all enjoy this one!

STEP 1.
Start out by picking your pencils. I used an HB pencil for sketching and general shading, a B pencil for dark lines/shading. And a 3B pencil for the darkest shading and the background.
STEP 2.
Start out with with a basic sketch. Use the guidelines if you need them.
STEP 3.
Your sketch should look something like this. I used an HB pencil to sketch. I then lightly blended over my lines with a blending stump and used an eraser to clean up my sketch.
STEP 4.
Now it is time to start defining the sketch more a bit at a time. Start by defining the top half of his head then roughly shade in the area. Shade very lightly.
STEP 5.
Now define and shade the rest of the head in the same manner.
STEP 6.
Now work on his torso and upper arm.
STEP 7.
Take some time to sketch in his arrows. Start with simple lines then define the shafts and fletching.
STEP 8.
Define his quiver then roughly shade it along with the arrows.
STEP 9.
Now go ahead and sketch and shade the rest of the drawing.
STEP 10.
Use a 3B pencil to lightly shade in the background. After that use a paper towel to blend in your shading.
STEP 11.
Time to start adding the final layers of shading. Start by roughly shading using a 3B pencil. You can then use a a blending stump to smooth out your shading if you need to. After that use a B pencil for the fine lines and shading and an HB pencil for the lighter lines/shading. Try to get your shading to be as smooth as possible.
STEP 12.
Now go ahead and shade in the rest of his head in the same manner. Use a 3B pencil if you find that your B pencil isn't dark enough.
STEP 13.
Now shade in his toro and upper arm.
STEP 14.
Now shade in his torso and upper arm.
STEP 15.
Now shade in his arrows and quiver in the same manner.
STEP 16.
Shade in the rest of the drawing. Start your final with the bow and arrow before shading the rest of his arm.
STEP 17.
Finish shading the drawing by cleaning up the background and polishing your details. Let me know if you have any questions/comments.Comments: Post Comment
