You have received your dose of Hello Kitty, now let's move onto something more exciting which has everything to do with the arrival of spring. I wanted to draw something that brought spring to life and what better way to do that than to draw a butterfly resting on a flower that hasn't bloomed yet. This lesson will be on "how to draw a spring butterfly", step by step. I know that butterflies come in all different shapes and sizes, but I think we can safely say that this creation is one hundred percent imaginative. I know there are butterflies that have the tone of pink and black, but I don't think they come designed with the markings of a monarch butterfly. The tails on the wings is also something that I wanted to add for additional beauty. Spring to me is the start of a new chapter in life as it is with any season. With every passing season there is always something new that happens in life that will always be remembered. It could be a new love, friendship, tragedy, trip, or anything else in between. I had a lot of fun making this lesson, and I think who every tackles drawing a spring butterfly will love it as well. I guess that's it, I shall return once again with some more drawing fun so don't go too far away from your computer. Peace out people and once again, enjoy.

How to Draw a Spring Butterfly

how to draw a spring butterfly step 1

STEP 1.

The first guidelines will be for your butterfly. So here you will need to draw a plus sign that is slightly bent looking.

STEP 2.

Using the middle guidelines, draw the butterfly's head and body like so, as well as the antenna which curl out at the tips. You can design your own antenna pattern if you like.

STEP 3.

As with a lot of my butterflies, you can choose to change the pattern or style of the wings if you like, or you can just follow this tutorial verbatim. No matter what you choose, you will have to draw the left side of the butterfly's wings. The edging for my wing is ruffled, and the tail of the wing has a cute ruffled tuft.

STEP 4.

You will do the exact same thing on the right side that you did on the left. Draw the wing the same exact way like so, and then move to step five.

STEP 5.

I usually don't include a step on the things that my butterflies land on, but this time I thought it would be helpful. Draw the freshly raised stem of a flower that will bloom any day now, or you can draw yourself a nice spring flower. Add detailing to the stem, and now is the time to draw in your wing pattern.

STEP 6.

Once you have cleaned up your mistakes and guides you can start coloring in your springtime butterfly. I hope you had as much fun as I did.
