How to Draw a Sea Turtle, Cartoon Sea Turtle

Step 1.

Start this turtle by drawing a narrow egg shape and then draw the body.

Step 2.

Sketch out the shape of the head structure making sure to add some width to the top part of the head as well as add a dent for the mouth.

Step 3.

Next, draw a circle for the eye, and then make an eyeball. Draw the smile line and make some texture detailing on the top of the turtles head. Draw a nose hole and move to step four.

Step 4.

Thicken the lining on the shape you drew in step one for the turtles body. Once that is done add some belly lines like so, and a dented collar.

Step 5.

Draw the fins or flippers, and then add some skin definition which looks a lot like scales.

Step 6.

Draw the back fins or legs like so, and once again add detailing to its surface for texture definition.

Step 7.

Lastly, draw the under carriage of the turtles shell like so, and add a nice border line for definition. Clean up the drawing and you are done.

Step 8.

Here is the line art when you are done. Now you can have fun coloring in the turtle to your liking.

Hello everyone I figured I might as well come back on and submit my last lesson for the day. It is going to be easy enough for everyone to tackle, so I hope you enjoy learning "how to draw a sea turtle", step by step. The cartoony style of this turtle was so fun to draw because of the clean sharp lines and amazing color. As you can see I drew the sea turtle in the water instead of crawling to the land from the shore. There is many ways you can replicate such an animal, but I chose to do it my way and my way is the easy way. Of course you can add smaller versions of this turtle if you want a younger version, or a turtle with it's mother. No matter what you will most definitely have fun drawing a cartoon sea turtle. Well, that's about it folks, have fun and remember to rate and comment if you enjoyed this lesson, or even if you hated it. All comments are welcome regardless. Peace out and have fun!
