How to Draw an Apache, Apache Helicopter

1

I'm going to try and break down this helicopter the best way I know how. Start by drawing a shape that looks almost like a pizza slice. This should also include the crust at the top.

2

You will start this step by sketching out the shape of the radar dome and main rotor which will house the helicopters blades or propellers. Take your time so it comes out neat and sort of precise.

3

You will now start taking your time as you sketch out the shell of the Apache. The bumps you see at the top is where the twin turboshaft engines are located so be sure to draw those out accurately . Once you feel confident that the body of the AH-64

Next step, let's tackle the task of getting the wings drawn in as well as the pylons which is what is used to hold the hydra rocket launchers and the hellfire missiles. Once you are done here, you can move down to step five.

5

As you can see your Apache helicopter is going to look a great deal like the real thing when you are done with this step. You will first draw the air pockets for the twin turboshaft engines, and then draw the cylinder shapes for the hydra rocket laun

6

Now is the time that you begin sketching out the body detailing which includes the seams, and rivet holes as well as the hull where the pilot and gunner sit. Sketch in the windows like so, and then sketch in the body frame and surface definition and

7

Almost done guys! Here you will sketch or draw in the four blade system like so, and be sure to take your time because the base should be drawn neatly for accuracy.

8

And finally, draw the tail end of the helicopter like so, and even though you can't see it, there is supposed to be a tail rotor located right behind the blade to the top right. Clean up your sketch or drawing so you can prepare it for some serious c

This is what the finished product looks like when you are all done. Now you can have fun coloring in your AH-64 Apache using an OD green shade.

Description: I’m really excited to be bringing you this lesson today and it was made solely on an idea I had after watching a particular movie. The other night I watched a film called ‘Apocalypse Now’, and I have to say that it was one of the best military based movies I have ever seen next to Platoon. I know it’s been out for a while but this flick was awesome. I don’t really get into war films too much, but I just had to see what all the hype was about. Now I know why people say that Apocalypse Now is one of the best films ever made. The actors and story was absolutely amazing, and in tribute to the film, I wanted to make a tutorial that looked like one of the scenes, so here is “how to draw an Apache helicopter”, step by step. I believe that the Apache in this lesson is a Boeing AH-64. These attack helicopters were built by Hughes Helicopters from 1975 to 1984. After that McDonnell Douglas took over production from 1984 to 1997. Nowadays, it is Boeing Defense, Space, and Security that produces the Apache and they have been since 1997. These copters where built for one thing and one thing only, to do some serious damage. They are fully equipped with a night vision system, as well as with a thirty millimeter M230 Chain Gun which is displayed between in the area between the main landing gear. The AH-64 also has a four blade propeller set up, they carry a series of AGM-114 Hellfire missiles, and of course the Apache is also equipped with Hydra 70 rocket pods. This machine can do some serious destruction, and even though I’m not military machinery nut, I can totally see why enthusiasts go ape sh** over a beast like this. No wonder why my twelve year old brother loves building models of these things. Anyways, I did my very best to show you all "how to draw an AH-64 Apache". I hope you like this lesson and I also hope that you stick around to see what else I submit for you all. Peace out people and like always, enjoy!
