In this tutorial I’ll be showing you how to draw one of these beautiful sea creatures. Blue whales can size up to an enormous one hundred and ten feet long. That’s HUGE! They are part of the baleen whale family. This means that they filter food from water through baleen plates. Whales were cut down to numbers of two thousand. There used to be three hundred and ten thousand whales before the hunting began. These beasts are humongous. They can be spotted in the Pacific, Antarctic, and Indian Oceans. Whales can weigh to an enormous size of 160-180 tons. It is very hard for scientists to measure blue whales despite their size. Whalers (whale hunters) measure blue whales by cutting them in separate pieces. They can't get an exact measurement because of blood loss and other fluids. A whale tongue can weigh to 3 tons. When its mouth expands it can contain up to 100 tons. When I was sketching this drawing, I wanted to convey just how peaceful Blue whales are. I used a sketching pad, a soft lead pencil, and an extra eraser to clean up the art. I later scanned the image into my comp and did all the coloring on adobe Photoshop. I have been using Photoshop for 5 years now, so it is easy for me to get the effects that I want. If you do not have access to these types of tools, then some good colored pencils are just fine. I hope you enjoy this tutorial on how to draw a blue whale.

Add some extra details to your whale and you should end up with this. It kinda looks upside down for some reason. But it's actually on a slant. Picture swimming through the ocean.
