How to Draw a Hippie Skull, Hippie Tattoo

1

As always begin with a circle for the head guide and then sketch in the facial guidelines.

2

All you will do here is draw out the bandanna which wraps around the head, and then draw in the hippie or peace symbol right in the center of the bandanna.

3

Next, draw the long stringy looking hair on both sides which sort of frames the skull. The ends curl up on the bottom and there is also some bangs folded or tucked in the sides. Sketch in the hair strands, and move to step four.

4

Draw out the shape of the skull's face which is very sunken in and narrow. The cheek bones are well defined and prominent, and the lower portion of the face is long and narrow. Don't forget to add some definition on the chin.

5

Using the face guides draw the large eye sockets or eyeballs as you see here. Draw the skin on the eyelids, and then sketch in the darkened areas around the eyes as well as the wrinkles for the aged face.

6

Take your time as you draw in a happy hippie smile. This should include both the top and bottom rows of teeth, as well as the grooves which houses each tooth.

7

Next, draw the nose, add some detailing under the nose, and then draw the smile lines the way you see them here.

8

Finish off your hippie skull by drawing more hair which is in the back, and then thicken the lines for each strand. Clean up the drawing and you are ready to rock and roll as you color in your new skull.

9

Here is the line art when you are all done. All you need to do now is color in your drawing and show someone what you have created.

Description: So my main goal today is to submit some wicked cool tutorials that I think you guys will fall in love with. My next submission is going to be on another cool skull design and out of all the skulls I have drawn so far, this is definitely one of my favorite. The reason why I like this skull is because it’s so colorful and fun. Today, I will show you "how to draw a hippie skull", step by step. Hippie stuff has been catching my eye lately ever since Catlucker uploaded those two lessons on trippie art, and on the hippie girl. The skull concept took me forever to conjure up but in the end I love how it came out looking. As far as complexity goes, it shouldn’t be that hard to replicate the drawing because I tried keeping it simple enough for everyone to tackle. My inspiration for the skull came from a movie that my uncle was watching. It had two burn outs in it and they both hard dark hair and mustaches. I think it was called Cheech and Chong. Anyways have an awesome time drawing a hippie skull. I will be back shortly with more drawing fun so stick around people if you want to get thrown off your seats. Peace!
