So there's this virus being spread to bees all around North America. A scientist captured bees in a vial as a snack for his praying mantis. Forgettably he left them in the vial for a while, returning only to find maggots swarmed around the dead bee carcasses and this lead to the discovery of zombie bees and the possible cause of the disappearance of honey bees throughout North America. In relative news, millions of fish and birds are dying around the world, which could only mean one thing, the end of the world. Nah, just kidding, but the statements I made are true, just not the “end of the world” one, hehe. I wanted to draw a bee that's been infested with maggots that its predator has planted in the abdomen of this creature. Flies have been injecting eggs into these honey bees, giving the creature a few weeks of life left. Unfortunately, the last weeks the insect is alive, suffers from severe “zombie” symptoms, like flying in circles, twitching limbs, and flying into lights like moths do. It's weird, because I remember the bug zapper I have hanging at the corner of my house had bees dead around it. Scary, eh? Well, anyways, I hope this lesson will be a fun experience for y'all. STEP 1.
Draw a zombie bee is going to be fun, easy and interesting. Start with a circle for the head and then sketch in the facial guidelines. Next, draw the round shape of the body and then move along to step two.
STEP 2.
Draw out the creepy shaped head of the bee and when you do this make sure that the top of the head dips in a bit.
STEP 3.
Using the facial guidelines that you made in step one, draw out the semi large eyes which are round and then draw x's for the pupils to convey that the bee is dead. Draw in some detailing on the snout of the bee and then draw the mandibles. Draw the curled in antenna and move along to step four.
STEP 4.
Sketch the hair on the back of the bee, and then draw in the bee's wings as well as detail them with the vein like ribs.
STEP 5.
Draw some more of the bee's back, and then draw the rest of the body as well as the long crippled looking legs. Draw the points at the ends of each leg and move along to step six.
STEP 6.
Draw in two more legs on the other side of the bee's body and then more pointed tips.
STEP 7.
For the last drawing step all you have to do is draw the rest of the zombified body like so, and draw in some maggots hatching out of the abdomen. Erase your mistakes and then clean up anything else that needs to be fixed.
STEP 8.
Here is the zombie bee when you are all done. Now you can have even more fun coloring in this insect that is on the verge of extinction.1 Page Result
