I haven’t drawn too many dog drawings lately and even though I get requests to make more tutorials on different dog breeds, I haven’t been able to do so because I was on a rant with making more and more lessons on all sorts of stuff like you see on the first three pages. Today, I will take that leap and submit "how to draw a cocker spaniel", step by step. I found that out of all the requests that I get, one of the most requested breeds is the Cocker Spaniel. I’m kind of sorta familiar with this dog, but in all reality I find them to be beautiful in every way, but also a very testy tempered breed. My grandmother used to own a cocker spaniel and at first thought it was the best dog on earth. My mind changed when Poopsie started getting a bad attitude (that was her real name). I guess when the spaniel gets old they start to act like grumpy old people. She was funny and very strange, but I guess that’s because she had what you call ‘small dog syndrome’. This is when a dog starts believing that they are the pack leader over all humans it comes in contact with including the owner. Cocker Spaniels tend to carry this trait if they are lead or treated like an equal to humans. Cocker Spaniels are also known to be difficult to house train, but they seem to take to regular obedience and trick training well. One of the more recognizable features of this breed is the long hanging ears, and the beautiful feathering coat that they possess. Did you know that there is a cocker spaniel in the Disney movie ‘Lady and the Tramp’? It’s true, Lady is one hundred percent cocker spaniel and she falls for Tramp, a mix breed street dog that has wits, charm, and personality. I didn’t want to be typical and make a lesson on a dog that looks like Lady. Instead I drew my own interpretation that will teach you the ins and outs to drawing a cocker spaniel of your own. Remember, even though most spaniels have docked tails, not all will have this trait due to the fact that Europe has a law that prohibits you from docking a dogs tail. Not all parts of Europe, just most parts. Anyways, have fun people and make sure to leave a comment, rating or both. I will be back tomorrow with some more lessons that you should love.
