How to Draw Chuck Norris, Chuck Norris

1

Start out by picking your pencils. I used a 4H pencil for light shading/lines, an HB pencil for shading, a B pencil for darker shading/lines, and a 6B pencil for the darkest shading. You can use whichever pencil works best for you to sketch. I used a

Start out with a rough and basic sketch. Use the guidelines if you need them. Just try to get a basic idea of the features down.

3

Your sketch should look something like this. I softened my lines a bit by lightly blending over the drawing with a paper towel.

4

Use a blending stump to blend in your shading some more.

5

Use a kneadable eraser to erase any unwanted shading and B and HB pencil to start roughly shading. Start shading at the eyes and forehead.

6

Use a blending stump to smooth out your shading a bit. You can also use a 4H pencil to shade lightly and add texture to his skin.

7

Start working your way down with your shading by working on the nose, cheeks and ear.

8

Shade in his facial hair and mouth then smooth out your shading with a blending stump.

9

Start work on his hat by roughly shading it in with a 6B pencil.

10

Start adding more layers of shading to make the hat look smoother. You can use a blending stump to help you.

11

Start finishing up the hat by working on its outline. 6B may be to soft for outlining the hat so use a B pencil instead to make the hat's edges crisp.

12

After you're done with the hat shade in the background. I roughly shaded with a 6B pencil then used a blending stump to smooth out my shading.

13

Now start working on his shirt and jacket by defining the lines a bit more.

14

Roughly shade in Chuck's neck and clothes using a 6B pencil.

15

Now blend in your shading using a blending stump. After this point you can move back up to the face to start adding final details.

16

Now balance out the shading of the face mainly by making it darker. Use a B pencil to darken his facial hair and eyes. Use HB and 4H pencils on his skin.

17

Now move down to his neck and clothes.Use HB and 4H pencils for his skin and shirt. Use 6B and B pencils for his jacket. Use a blending stump to smooth out your shading.

18

Finish up the drawing by adding final details to the face and clothing and cleaning up the background. Again, this was a pretty tough drawing but it was pretty satisfying in the end. Let me know if you have any comments or questions!
