In this next lesson I will be showing you how to draw another tattoo design. I will show you how to draw a Viking tattoo step by step. The reason for my design is because I have been seeing a lot of people recently with the faces of Vikings tattooed on their bodies (mainly on the shoulders and back). The facial expression of a Viking warrior is so taunting and mysterious; I thought that this would be a good opportunity to show you just how easy it is to draw the head of a Viking warrior. You can use this lesson as aids to help you draw the face of a warrior, then add your own body. You don’t necessarily have to use this character face just as a tattoo you know. Many people in the past had requested tutorials on Vikings and I thought that this would be a neat way to fill those request. The Vikings were people that were explorers, warriors, merchants, and pirates who mainly raided and colonized wide areas of Europe. The typical attire for Vikings consisted of a helmet, shield, chainmail shirt, and usually an animal-skin coat as well as different weapons such as spears, axes, swords, and a bow and even knifes. I have been doing a lot of request lately and pretty soon I will stop submitting cool tattoo tutorials because I want to draw bigger and better things. Anyways this tattoo design will help you sketch out your very own Viking even if you chose to draw him as a character. Learning how to draw a Viking tattoo step by step will help you tackle other sketches on dwarf warrior faces as well because they look so similar. The instructions are easy to read and the steps are simple to follow. All you have to do is take your time and you will soon be drawing your very own Viking head too. I will be back with two more drawing lessons so stay tuned kiddies.

How to Draw a Viking Tattoo

how to draw a viking tattoo step 1

STEP 1.

Well as you can imagine this is going to be a very easy tutorial on this Viking head. What you will need to do first is draw out a circle for his head and then add the facial guidelines. Next draw two curved lines for the horns of the helmet and then the outline of his big busy beard.

STEP 2.

Next draw out the actual shape of the horns and then the shape of the helmet. Notice that the helmet has a pointed tip. You will then sketch out the lining of his eyes and then his very broad and wide nose shape. Add a frown like like for his mouth and then proceed onto the next step shall we.

STEP 3.

Okay step three. You will start this step by sketching out the some lining for his eyebrow and then the shape for his wide open eyes. Add dome wrinkle detailing to his face around his eyes and cheek, and then start sketching in the actual shape of his beard as seen. You will need to add some strand lines as well and make the ends slightly pointed.

STEP 4.

Okay well you have made it to step four and what you will do now is start adding the bone detail to the horns on the helmet. You will also add the design lines as well as the emblem. Give this Viking warrior some pupils and then detail around his nose just a bit.

STEP 5.

Wha who! You have finally made it to step five which means you have reached the last drawing step. What you will do here is add the finishing details to the helmet and then add the axe emblem. Now, sketch in all the strand lines you see here and then start erasing all the guidelines and shapes that you drew in step one.
