How to Draw Baby Jesus, Baby Jesus
Let’s see, today is December 20th which means Christmas is only five more days away. I can’t believe this holy holiday is knocking on my door step once again. Don’t get me wrong I love Christmas, it’s just, I know with each passing holiday, one year of my life is gone. I’m not only getting older, I’m also getting older looking, and that really depresses me. Anyways enough with the poppycock and one with the show. Yesterday was an epic day for me because I drew some killer stuff and turned them all into killer drawing tutorials. To celebrate the holiday season I wanted to do something different that I hadn’t thought of before. Today, I will be showing you guys my version of "how to draw baby Jesus", step by step. I was going to draw a nativity scene first, but I wanted to keep things as simple as possible with this tutorial idea. So what I did was omit Mary and Joseph, (thanks for the correction) as well as the baby lamb and the three wise men. After I decided to not include all the other figures, the simple baby Jesus concept came to mind. I started drawing the rough sketch of my idea and then once the drawing was done, I added some simple details, and took away complex lines. In the end the final or finished drawing was done. The results were a cute, chubby baby Jesus with ice blue eyes and a personality that shined through in his smile. I had so much fun when I drew this baby, and I know you will too. If you have always wanted to know the first steps into taking on the task of drawing baby Jesus, this lesson is perfect for you. It will help you with the idea of how it should be drawn, and what to include within the concept. I have to go for now but I will return. Enjoy this lesson and look out for more drawing fun!

STEP 1.
The very first thing that you have to do when creating your own version of baby Jesus is to draw out the circle shape for the head guide and then sketch in the facial guideline.
STEP 2.
Now that the first step is done, you can begin sketching out the actual facial structure of the baby's face and head. What may look like a lump for an ear is actually the baby's chubby cheek. Draw in the small hand and fingers, then proceed onto step three.
STEP 3.
Okay, here is where you can really play with the drawing. You can go ahead and draw the style of eyes you see here, or you can choose to go with your own design concept. Once the thick lids are drawn, sketch in some lashes, and then draw the eyebrows and eyelids. Lightly draw in a nose and then draw the baby's mouth or lips. Don't forget to add those small curved dashes at the ends of the lip lines to add that chubby cheek detail.
STEP 4.
You have already reached step four which means when you are done with this task, your baby Jesus will look that much better. The first thing you want to do here is sketch in the hair line using a simple short dash stroke. Make sure the lines are arched to the right as you proceed. Next, draw the other arm and hand like so, and then draw in the blanket that little Jesus is wrapped in.
STEP 5.
Continue to draw out the body in the shape of a cone. This is how a baby's body looks if you are drawing it wrapped in a cloth or small blanket. Add the lining, and then draw the bed or basket's edge lining and be sure to make the blanket hang over the side like so.
STEP 6.
My version of baby Jesus is in a wicker style basket, but you can draw a bassinet style bed if you like. Sketch in the detailing to the basket, and then start cleaning up your mistakes.
STEP 7.
Here is the line art of the finished drawing when you are done. Now you can color in your work, and show your loved ones what you have just accomplished. I hope you had fun folks, and remember, don't let anyone come in your way of doing what you love.Post a comment
