Does anyone know who Samuel Langhorne Clemens is? Well, if you read the books Tom Sawyer and Huckleberry Finn, you should know who this gentleman is. He went by the name Mark Twain, and he was an American author that changed the world or writing history forever. Both Huckleberry Finn and Tom Sawyer are now considered to be the great American Novels of all time and even though there has been plenty more authors after Mark Twain's existence, his works are always going to be recognized, talked about, and quoted after. Samuel Clemens was born on November 30, 1835, and died April 21, 1910. His mother had seven children, but like a lot of families back in the 1800’s only three of the six other children survived which left Mark with only three brothers/sisters. One of Marks early writings before Tom Sawyer earned him credit and praise. It was a comical piece called ‘The Celebrated jumping Frog of Calaveras County’. A couple years later he traveled to Europe as well as the Middle East and during his time there he wrote a series of letters that was combined into a traveler’s book called ‘The Innocents Abroad’. Mr. Twain did a lot of traveling and included along with his adventures he went to places like Hawaii, Fiji, Australia, New Zealand, Sri Lanka, India, Mauritius, South Africa, and of course England. One of the most intriguing things about Mark was how he fell in love with his wife. When his future brother-in-law showed Mark a picture of his sister, he instantly expressed how he already knew who the woman was he wanted to marry. One year after seeing Olivia Langdon’s picture, they were married in Elmira, New York. The history of Mark Twain goes far and wide. For me to sit here and note everything about his life’s history would literally be like writing two chapters of a book. Now because I am so busy, I have to stop myself now before I get carried away. For now I hope you will enjoy this lesson on drawing Mark Twain. I know his writings are used in schools and colleges across the globe, and maybe even one day some of you will need to do an assignment on him. I hope you enjoy this description as well as lesson on drawing him out. If you haven’t read Tom Sawyer or Huckleberry Finn, I urge you to do so. I shall return with easier, funnier less strenuous tutorials so stay tuned in people. Adios and enjoy!

STEP 3.

As you can see Mr. Twain has very thick and long eyebrows. You will start with drawing out the shapes of his eyes, and then draw the iris and color in the pupils. Once the eyes are done, you can then sketch in the bushy eyebrows like so, and then add some under eye wrinkles or bag lines.

You will now tackle the task of getting his hair sketched in. As you can see the hair is one giant lump on one side of his head and then on the right side it is a bit in control. Sketch in some strand lines and be sure to draw some pointed tips.
