STEP 1.
Here we have the the guidelines, it will help you draw your character:) Notice that the back is arched.
STEP 2.
Based on the guidelines start to draw the body. It will help you dress your character and understand the anatomy. The torso is turned to the right side. Measure the length of your arms, it should be the same.
STEP 3.
Continue drawing the body and the arms. The outstretched hand gives a nice feminine balance in contrast to the closed fist, which may give a hard feeling. Continue drawing her legs:)
STEP 4.
Draw the rest of her legs and don't forget about the knee lines. The right leg is not shorter, but because of the perspective and the angle it's above the left one.
STEP 5.
Okay, now that we have a better understanding of her pose, erase the guidelines and start to draw the hair. Don't "glue" it on the head, give it volume. Anime girls usually have thick hair. She has short ponytails which are bind with ribbons. Also, notice that they are not flat, they have volume. Give them depth:)
STEP 6.
Start drawing her dress. Her sleeves are puffed. She also has a collar on which we will attach a ribbon in the next step. Notice that where the dress is tied with a band there are folds. The upper ones fall and the bottom folds tend to rise. The bottom of her dress falls down in a wave of folds. Notice how the folds bend. Where it bends draw a line up. The shading becomes darker in the back of her dress.
STEP 7.
Time to draw the details. They will make her outfit more original. I added a heart shaped ribbon on the collar and matched the upper heart with little ones on the edge of her dress.
STEP 8.
To complete the outfit draw the gloves. Notice the folds on her wrists. The boots are easy to do. Just follow the leg line and don't forget the lower part, give them height.
STEP 9.
Draw her face. She has a cute, yet confident look. Her eyebrows are on the same line as the ear. Her face is also slightly turned to the right side, so the left eye will be in perspective.
STEP 10.
Erase the body lines and this is how your drawing should look like. I hope you enjoyed this tutorial^^1 Page Result

i tried watercolours but failed XD i will just use coloured pencils

You can use what you want:) Choose what you like. I personally like tempera colors, but they are not very different from the watercolors^^

ok i will share my picture! and where do you find tempera paint? i might just use markers or watercolours for thats about all i have. :)

I'm glad you like it^^ I used tempera colors for the picture:) Start with a layer of your chosen color and then add the shades. You can make them 2 or 3 shades darker than the first layer. Then add the light with white or lighter shades. It will give your character volume:) And please don't worry about not turning out perfect. I have my own fears too and sometimes I don't like my drawings. Just practice as much as you can and after a few months compare your drawings. Believe me, you will feel so proud when you see how much you'be progressed:) I'm sure it will turn out great and I would be very happy if you would share your result^^ Take care >:D<
