The new “Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword” is out today. Are all you Zelda fans getting the new game? I've got the tutorials for the characters featured (the villain and companion with Link). Here you will learn "how to draw Epona", step by step. Make sure you check those out if you find yourself becoming attached to the new characters. If there are others in the game that you're a fan of, please leave a comment for the request or using the form on the site. Ok, so, when I was drawing Epona, I looked at many references of her. I first started out with her standing on her hind legs, but that failed due to the legs looking bulky and fat. I continuted pacing myself with a horse pose drawn like the one shown. It took around two hours to finish her, making sure that the legs and front legs seemed the same length. As you draw from this tutorial, don't close yourself from looking at other references of Epona to memorize a clear aspect of how she is formed at various angles. Anyways, I think it's time for me to move onto another lesson for the day. Thank you so much for viewing this tut and have fun! Peace and love.

STEP 1.
Epona is going to be tricky with some parts but you should be able to get through it fine. Start by making a small circle for the head and then draw the neck line. Make another larger shape in the form of an egg for the body and then move along.
STEP 2.
Carefully start sketching out Epona's face and head. I would start at the top, and work your way down to the forehead, snout, jaw and mouth. Sketch in the puffy hair as well as the ears.
STEP 3.
Be sure that you approach each step with ease. Continue to sketch out the entire neck like so, and then sketch out her mane like so, and add some wispy detailing to the hair. Before you leave it would be a good idea to sketch in some of the detailing on her neck like so.
STEP 4.
You will begin working on getting the saddle drawn out. Start at the top where it is placed on her back. Sketch in the outline of the saddle, and then draw in the flaps as well as the belt that is harnessed around the lower part of her neck. Add the notches or holes on the belt as well as the buckle.Don't forget to draw in the Triforce symbol.
STEP 5.
All you need to do now is take your time as you sketch out her chest, and front legs. Be sure that when you draw Epona's legs you add the bone structure as well as the muscle detailing. Sketch in her hooves and move along people!
STEP 6.
Okay guys, you are almost done with one of the coolest lessons of the day. Draw the back part of Epona's body like so, as well as her very strong looking hind quarters or leg. There should be hair brushed over her hoof and there should also be some muscle detailing on her thigh.
STEP 7.
And finally, draw in the other hind leg as well as her majestic looking tail which is blowing in the breeze. Add last minute detailing and then you are ready to go over the finished sketch and erase the lines and shapes you made in step one.
STEP 8.
Here is the line art when you are all done. Now you can enjoy the task of coloring in one of the video game industries most popular horse or animal species. Epona the beautiful.1 Page Result

i LOVE skyward sword, it's my favriote zelda game so far. my favriote character and boss is Ghirahim. Epona is so cool mine looked strange but i think it was because i made the neck too long like i always do

ive got Skyward Sword... :( i dont really think it feels enough like a Zelda game :( Only Hero Mode feels more like it.

Epona is such a beautiful horse and horses have always been hard for me to draw. this tut has helped me big time. definetely one of the best horses i have ever drawn
