1

Start the first step by making some shapes and guidelines. This will create the frame work of the alpaca that you are about to draw. Add the neck and legs too.

2

The alpaca will be drawn in from a side view profile. Start with the small ears, and then draw in the front part of the hair that almost covers the eyes. Sketch out the outline of the face starting with the bridge of the nose, nose, lips, and jaw lin

3

Using a scratchy stroke, begin sketching out the shape of the long neck and back of the alpaca's head. draw in the eyes and as you can see they have a similar expression to that of the camel.

4

Continue to sketch out the rest of the body which is very easy to do. Sketch in the legs like so, and then move to step five.

5

Draw the legs or ankles and then draw out the hooves like so. Sketch in the detailing and then begin cleaning up the drawing to prepare it for color.

6

This is the line art when you are all done. Color in the alpaca by choosing from the more than twenty two colors. Thanks guys!

Description: I said I had another tutorial left before I was all done for the night. This next lesson is going up because I wanted to show folks "how to draw an alpaca", step by step. These animals look a lot like the llama, and even though they are similar in appearance, they are second in line when it comes to owning them as pets. Some people like to go with goats, and others would rather have alpacas. They are an animal breed that has been in existence since mankind. They originated in the Andes Mountains located in Peru. The Incan people used alpaca to cloth themselves as well as for household use. The alpaca have incredibly strong, warm, and durable fur that is harvested for making clothing. It is said to feel better than cashmere, and is a preferred fiber over sheep’s wool. My parents are actually looking into getting a couple alpacas, but if they choose not to go with the alpaca, they will probably go with goats. Well, I hope you have fun drawing an alpaca; I made a simple version so everyone can tackle this awesome task. I shall return tomorrow with more drawing fun, so be sure to come back around for another time on the town. Peace people!
