Description:
Created for Hanna Barbera by Joe Ruby and Ken Spears in 1969, "Scooby Doo, Where Are You" is a popular cartoon that was originally made as a Saturday morning cartoon show. It made its cartoon debut on CBS in September of 1969. The first episode was called “What a Night for a Knight”. Not only is Scooby part of the Mystery Inc. group, there is also the blonde bomb shell which happens to be a guy called Fred Jones, then we have the ravenous red head Daphne Blake, the four eyed genius Velma Dinkley, and of course Scooby’s best pal and eating buddy Norvill “Shaggy” Rogers. Together they drive around in the Mystery Machine to find mystery’s to unravel and solve. They always get there man or woman, and it’s usually Scooby and Shaggy that get the catch, (of course it’s almost always on accident.) Scooby Doo is a Great Dane that is assumingly owned by Shaggy. In 1979 Scrappy-Doo (who is the pint size nephew of Scooby) was added to the series up until 1980. Over the years Scooby Doo was made into telefilm cartoon movies that went to VHS and DVD for folks to purchase. Till this day the series runs on Cartoon Network, and over the years has been one of the most popular cartoon series past down to generations. He still remains the cowardly dog that will only take risks for delicious Scooby snacks, and he never goes anywhere without his good buddy Shaggy. Together they are funny, goofy, and at times they can be brave. In 2002 Warner Bros. release a live-action movie called Scooby-Doo. It grossed over $130 million dollars so a sequel was made soon after that called Scooby Doo 2: Monster Unleashed which I thought was not as funny as the first one. Over all I will always love the characters of Mystery Inc. I grew up with them and remain a fan. This tutorial teaches you how to draw Scooby-Doo with just seven simple steps. The instructions are easy to read and follow. Until next time, I bid you farewell.

This step is all about drawing the frame work for Scooby. Start off by draw three circles, one oval shape for the head, one large circle shape for the torso, and one smaller circle shape for the butt end of the Great Dane. Move to the top again and sketch in his snout with a round nose, then sketch his long neck that goes down the back. Before leaving this step make a small line for his underbelly.

Now what you do here is start at the back circle shape and sketch his hip which is a line that starts from the top, draw an inch down and draw a circle for the knee and another line for the lower part of the leg. Move over to the other side and draw the other hind leg the same way you did the first one. Scooby Doo has a rounded chin and lip. Starting from under the snout, Draw a half shaped heart to draw his chin and bottom lip. After you complete this task move down to step 3.

Step three is completing Scooby's bottom legs and starting his long tail. To finish the hind legs simply draw two boot shapes for his paws. Move to the front and draw his front legs straight down preparing them to have feet going away from each other. Move back to the back and draw a squiggly line that will be the tail.

Complete the tail by drawing the other side until it resembles a small snake. Give his hind leg a webbed line that goes under his hip to right above his ankle. Draw those big plump toes, I believe there are four. After this step proceed onto the next step.

Here is where you will complete the front legs and feet, draw the collar, draw the ears, and eyes as well. First start at the top and draw the dogs two pointed ears. Then draw two side shapes for his eye brows. Now draw two circles for the shapes of his eyes that rest on top of his snout. Move to his neck and draw the collar which is two lines. And finally draw Scooby's paws the shape of boots that go away from eachother.

This step is where you will draw the black spots sporadically on Scooby's body. Draw plump toes for the front of the paws as you did in the back, and his name tag that is on the collar. Draw two little dots for his eye balls, and sketch a V inside the ears to complete this goofy Great Dane.

Your drawing is done, and all Scooby needs now is some color and love. Erase the guidelines and sketch marks before you color Scooby Doo.Comments Don't be shy. Tell us what you think. |
