I know you all learned how to draw Shu from Blue Dragon, but what good is that if you don’t know how to draw his shadow Blue Dragon. So that is what you will be learning how to do today. The same story goes for Blue Dragon as it did for Shu with just some slight differences. First off he is the shadow Dragon for Shu and he is somewhat of a cocky entity. Blue Dragon also has destructive impulses and a rebel like personality. His personality is different then Shu’s, and it should be since they are two totally different beings. Shu has more of a kind and brave heart, while Blue Dragon is tough, massive, and smart. Even though he lends all his overwhelming power to Shu, Shu still must show him that he is worthy enough to hold such a powerful responsibility. Blue Dragon also wants Shu to prove his worthiness before he accepts him as his battling partner. Eventually Blue Dragon will become a major influence to Shu and help him lead his life on the right path by teaching him values that will show Shu how to grow as a person and a warrior. In this tutorial you will learn how to draw Blue Dragon step by step. The tutorial lessons will show you how easy it is to draw this anime character with ease. So grab your shadow along with your sketch pad and pencil, and prepare yourself for an awesome journey.Step 1.
In this first step you will be drawing out the guidelines and shapes to form a solid frame for the Blue dragon. Start by drawing out the shape of his head along with facial guidelines drawn in. Now from the head draw a long curly line for the body. Above his head draw another shape for his hand and on the right do the same thing. Both shapes should be round and boxed looking. From those shapes draw out the guidelines that are attached.
Step 2.
Now herein this step you will be drawing out the detailing for his face and body. Start by sketching out the guidelines for the face starting with the horns, eye lines, and mouth. Next sketch out the hands, nails, and some of the sleek looking body. After your sketch looks like the one above move to the next step.
Step 3.
Now you will draw in the face. Start with the eyes then the nose, then the mouth and teeth as shown. Now draw out the horn in the middle of his head. Detail his left hand the way it is shown to you and sketch in the detailing along the neck and body. Thicken the tail a bit more as well.
Step 4.
Welcome to step 4. Now you will be drawing out the shapes of the spiked frills on his back. Then draw out the horn frill on the left of his face. Now you can start to draw out parts of his wing which is under his body as you can see. Detail his right hand more and move down to the next step.
Step 5.
All you will need to do here is finish drawing out the right wing which is drawn like any other dragon wing. Detail his right hand more by sketching in lines and the finish off the tail. Erase all the guidelines and circle shapes that you drew in step 1.
Step 6.
This is what your blue dragon should look like when you are completely done. All you have to do now is color him in. That will do it for this tutorial on how to draw Blue Dragon. See you all next time.
