I use a HB sketching pencil to draw my guidelines and basic outline.I use a regular pink eraser that you can buy almost anywhere. Depending on the color/shade of the shading,I tend to use a thicker/denser pencil. For light shading I use a HB. For darker shading I use a 2B or a 6B. Just some tips for beginers: 1) NEVER put a large amount of pressure on the pencil when you are drawing the outline. This will cause the lead to dig into the paper making it harder to erase. 2) dont worry if the guidelines are sloppy. You're gonna erase them anyway. 3) Add color if you like. I like to leave my drawing black and white. 4) If you want to, play some music. For example if you are drawing a monster of some sort play some heavy music.If you are drawing a flower or something delicate.play some light classical music.
