What really helps with eyeballing are guidelines. After shading, it's good to squint your eyes to see main shadows and tone. Now using a grid scale is great for total accuracy. I've done that. Follow the tutorials here that give you face and/or body proportions. Even tracing may not help with proportions. So it takes lots of practice.

ohmigosh, cat. Have you seen the latest maid sama chapter?! (chapter 80) i'm practically squealing and crying at the same time. Tora kissed Misaki, just to see Ta
i's 'rip your bones' face. lol i loved that part, mainly because one of my otps are tora x misaki. hehe 
also, maid sama's going to end soon! It has one last story arc, then, it's officially going to end...Maid sama was an amazing anime and manga. I hope the end is amazing, and ends with a bang~
